    • New Challenge!!

Rules: 1. Any warship or fighter available may be used.
      2. You may upgrade your ship as you see fit.
      3. You may "tweak" your ship's stats/weapons' stats as much as you care (within
reason: no super-ships/super-weapons!) using Res-Edit (or whatever).
      4. You may use any energy weapons available to you, but no impact/projectile
      weapons will be allowed.
      5. You can play either EVC (no plugs) or with plugs.
      6. You may not use cheater plugs, other than "Lightning Jump" or "Levo Fix."
      7. You may use a money cheat, in plug form or as a utility (like "EV Credits
      Max").
      8. You may use shipborne fighters (if you wish).
      9. No dominating planets/stations unless you're actually ordered to.

If we can agree on a plug (E1...)to use, and which side to play, then we would all be on an "equal" footing.
Let's see how far we can go before being destroyed. Since some of us are using emulated PC's, we'll use the honor system in saying how far we got.
If anyone can add to/edit this, please let me know!

      Have fun!
      ~Ace 😄 😄

    • You should probably change some of those rules. It makes it to easy. You probably shouldn't allow max credits or no using res-edit

      Sorry if I sound bossy

    • Don't worry about sounding bossy (unless you're pretending to be a moderator, hehe)! I use max credits because I don't like to do the "work from the ground up" method of playing. I just pretend that I've already done the trading...circuit and earned enough to buy a warship... I use Res-Edit to tweak my stats all the time. I've got a ship that can actually take a beating and dish it out as well. I don't believe in having a ship that is invulnerable with weapons that are so powerful they kill with one shot. Perhaps we can decide on a plug to use (E1...), a ship to use (with or without fighters), and appropriate stats for the ship and weapons. Can you come up with any other changes?

      ~Ace 😄

    • Ooops! Maybe you'd better take some time and learn how to use it. Go ahead...I'll wait...

    • Muchas Gracias, senor Overrider720! If ya want, I'll write down what (little I do) know about Res-Edit and post it later. You might also do a search in this forum and in the EV Developer's Corner.

      ~Ace 😄

    • Doesn't seem like much of a challenge.

"Tweaking" your ship with ResEdit (do you mean changing the ship stats in the data files or messing around with the pilot file?) is so fuzzy that it means the person with the greatest munchkin factor wins - hardly an even contest.

In fact - reading your post again, you are pulling our (collective) legs, no? Your rules are mostly about making the game easier: Rules 1, 2, 5 and 8 say nothing, and rules 3, 6 and 7 make it easier. Rules 4 and 9 are the only restrictions and, given that you have a money cheat, there isn't any reason to dominate planets anyway. Thus, your list of rules boils down to rule 4: Energy weapons only, don't cheat too much!

The challenge is to be the best munchkin?!

Oh, Captain! Say it isn't so!

      ------------------
Its amazing how "tsk, tsik, nik" can mean anything from "There's a bomb in the bus, get help!" to "I'm hungry, feed me"
In case of ambiguity about anything I say - choose the nicest interpretation.

    • How about we use GS. the plug. and we can only use a federation flea. That will make it hard!

The Flea is almost indestructible against secondaries, but it could fun. It would be a real challenge in a Sparrow. 🙂

    • Since it seems that (mostly) everyone is "unhappy" with my challenge, I hereby retract it!

    • No, just new rules. You must be strict:

      1 Rapier or Lighting only
2 Original EV only (no plugs)
      3 Rebel Storyline
4 No cheats whatsoever (except a money cheat to get you a rapier straight away, if you must)
      5 No escorts

Right, let's see how many missions you can do without dying. I'm starting now.
