Multiplayer games are inherently more interesting than single player games because, no matter how complex the single player game is, you are always playing against artificial intelligence rather than real intelligence of other human beings. In Avara, you actually have to outsmart your opponent to win. In EV, you can completely manipulate the AI and destroy even the most powerful of battleships with the weakest trade vessels, time and time again. Don't get me wrong, EV is fun for a while, but in reality, it's no more complicated than a simple text RPG. You may say that EV Plug-ins add more to the game, yet the same applies to a much greater extent in Avara with level sets. Avara is much more of an immersion. When you play Avara, you get a feel for the environment around you and acquire skills much as you would in an intense sport. EV is more like reading a book.
Avara is unique and sometimes frustrating and confusing to new players Thats because Avara involves so much skill that you can't just enter into it and expect to dominate immediately. So I'm not suprised that so many people like you hold the misconception that Avara is not as completely awesome as it really is... you haven't really experienced Avara until you play an intense game of Vatnajokull or Animosity with 5 other players on the internet.

I have only played Avara a couple of times and I never really enjoyed it, but I don't think it's a 'bad' game. I just couldn't get into it, but I'm sure it's worked for other people.
