    • New Chronicle 2/11/2003

Well, there's a new chronicle up for the interested - and, fun fact, it's written by yours truly, the first chronicle I've released in a while. 🙂 It's the beginning of a rewrite of what was probably the longest story that the CS Chronicles has had so far, and you can check it out (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=49")here(/url).

      Enjoy!

Just thought I'd comment on this: I took the liberty of checking the counts of what I remember as the longest-running stories, and you seem to be right. Here are length rankings, just for you stat-fiends:
      1 Andiyar's Fall of the Nervii - 18000 words
      2 My False Dawn - 15500 words
3 My Body and Soul - 11700 words
      4 llegolas's Elflord - 8000 words
Bryce's series might be up in there; I didn't check.

Edit: Hm, I didn't know anyone had written "elflorf"

    • Thanks all for the nice feedback. As I stated, this is a first draft, although it's quite close to how I feel it'll end up, and as I rewrite the rest of the story (time & life permitting) it'll make it's appearances here. And now, for some specifics. 🙂

I was amazed myself. When the first issue of the CRC mag came out with your story in it, I thought, 'hang on, that's not the first chronicle' then went and checked... and found out that about 50 chronicles were no longer visible. I went back and reread some of them, and then remembered some old sketches I'd done about a year ago for a revamp of TFOTN. I couldn't find them, but I felt like writing it again (again!)... so I did. Came out rather nicely, if I do say so myself! But I couldn't believe how long ago it was....wow, I feel ancient. 🙂

And, as for the lengths, I've gone and counted Bryce's as well, so the counts are now:

Andiyar: The Fall of the Nervii: 17500 words
      Bryce: TS: Insidae: 17100 words
      Celchu: False Dawn: 15500 words
Celchu: Body & Soul: 11700 words
      llegolas: Elflord: 8000 words

I'm only hanging onto my crown by a few hundred words here.... not so good for me, eh? 😉

At any rate, I'm rewriting TFOTN to not only be better, but to be a fair bit longer.... as it stands, the story covers about three or four months of real time (from memory - need to reread manuscript to be positive) and I'm playing with story threads that require about a year and a half of time, and I'm busy working on both justifications (more or less done) and additional plot threads for the extra time. Should be fun. 🙂

Hope to post the next installment soon - might do it in chapter splits, instead of sectional splits, as it's shaping up to be rather long.

      -Andiyar
