Thanks all for the nice feedback. As I stated, this is a first draft, although it's quite close to how I feel it'll end up, and as I rewrite the rest of the story (time & life permitting) it'll make it's appearances here. And now, for some specifics.

Edit: By the way, I hold the distinction of being the only other person to have posted in both the original version and this one. Over two years ago... has it really been that long?**
I was amazed myself. When the first issue of the CRC mag came out with your story in it, I thought, 'hang on, that's not the first chronicle' then went and checked... and found out that about 50 chronicles were no longer visible. I went back and reread some of them, and then remembered some old sketches I'd done about a year ago for a revamp of TFOTN. I couldn't find them, but I felt like writing it again (again!)... so I did. Came out rather nicely, if I do say so myself! But I couldn't believe how long ago it was....wow, I feel ancient.
And, as for the lengths, I've gone and counted Bryce's as well, so the counts are now:
Andiyar: The Fall of the Nervii: 17500 words
Bryce: TS: Insidae: 17100 words
Celchu: False Dawn: 15500 words
Celchu: Body & Soul: 11700 words
llegolas: Elflord: 8000 words
I'm only hanging onto my crown by a few hundred words here.... not so good for me, eh?
At any rate, I'm rewriting TFOTN to not only be better, but to be a fair bit longer.... as it stands, the story covers about three or four months of real time (from memory - need to reread manuscript to be positive) and I'm playing with story threads that require about a year and a half of time, and I'm busy working on both justifications (more or less done) and additional plot threads for the extra time. Should be fun.
Hope to post the next installment soon - might do it in chapter splits, instead of sectional splits, as it's shaping up to be rather long.
