okay, i copied the novatools resources into the resedit prefs file and restarted resedit.
now i want to make a weapon plugin, i set weap resource and now im stumped (nothing from nova bible either) am i supposed to create resources within resources( a spin within a weap) or what? and how do i get art into spďn and shän?
can i just copy and paste from superpaint or appleworks?

How do i create a weapon plugin!?

and how do i make my resource settings into a plug?

      help would be appreciated
(im not dumb, im just stupid)

    • To make it a plug, open your plug. Go to the file menu and select Get info for "your plug-in name". For type, put Npďf. to do the ď, press option u, i. For Creator:Növä. To get the ö press option u, o. for the ä press option u, a. Then close the window. It will ask you to save the info. Click "yes".
      To make an outfit:
In your plug, go to resource, and click create new resource. It will ask you what kind. type in oütf. You should know how to do the ü now. If you don't, press option u, u. Define all your stuff and close your outfit.
      For the Weapon:
In your plug go to resource, and click create new resource. Type in wëap. For the ë, press option u, e. Again, define all your stuff.
Now you have made your weapon.

      Hope this helps 🙂

Well, that's one possible way, but the simplest method would be to download an existing plugin that adds weapons (the Gundam 0083 Teaser Plug, for example), erase all the other resources (ship, rleD, rle8, etc), leaving the wëap resource, and then just edit the weapons that are already there, adding new resources (command + k) if you want more than what is there.

Cost, Weight, and several other things are set in the oütf resource. Create one for this weapon then enter what you want. If it has ammo, you'll need one for the ammo. For the icon you need to create the picture in a graphics program, make it 200 pixels by 200 pixels (In AppleWorks you can go into "Format", "Document" and set the "Pixels Across" and "Pixels Down" field to 200 each to get a 200x200 square), and copy it. Paste it directly into your plug, it will appear as a PICT. Select the info for that PICT, then change the "ID" field to 5872 + the ID number of the oütf for your weapon. For the "blurb", create a new "dësc" resource. Change its ID number to 2872 + the ID number of the oütf again. Open the dësc and type in what your want the description to be. Graphics Converter for the cost conscious. Photoshop if you want top-quality graphics.

Illustrator is okay, but doing outfits in a vectored graphics editor is a bit hard.

    • for graphics, I would use a 3D rendering program. The one I use is Infini-D.

Best program? There's no such thing as "the BEST program" for anything, especially if you give a topic as vague as art/graphics. Adobe Illustrator is useful when you're making logos and the such. Strata 3D, Maya, Lightwave, 3D Studio Max, SoftImage XSI, Infini-D, Amapi, Animation Master, POVRay, Carrara, etc. are good for 3D modeling and animation, but each have their own strengths and weaknesses. For instance, companies like Pixar, PDI, and ILM use combinations of Maya, Max, Soft, and Lightwave when they do effects. Photoshop is good for photoediting and compositing. There are LOTS of programs that I missed, but I'm just saying that the "best" program for one person will not be the "best" for another. I love to use POVRay, but there are people who absolutely hate using it. My suggestion is to research what programs do the things that you want them to do, and then experiment to find the one that you like using. It'll probably be the "best" program for you.

    • know where i could get a good pov-ray tutorial? is there a program that makes a shape with x number of verticies that u just move around to create a single thing?
(like molding a watermelon shape into a... starbridge type thing?)

Have you tried USING POVRay before? Have you even read the manual (that you can get from the site)? I'm assuming you haven't because that's NOT how POVRay works. In POVRay, there are no such things as vertices (unless you make a mesh... but that's annoying). POVRay is NOT a modeler. Let me repeat that: POVRay is NOT a modeler. Infini-D, Strata, Amapi, Animation Master, Maya, 3DSMax, Lightwave, and XSI are modelers. If you want a 3D modeling program, then POVRay is not the way to go.

      Matrix

I might use POVRay with a vengence, but I've also dappled with many other modeling programs. Not many with any success....

    • i meant a non POV-ray program with the verticies thing
and iv tried POV-ray, i used the box template and edited the dimensions, what do i have to do to make it render the shape?

      command+r.

As for other programs, you might want to look into Strata or Amapi.

    • I found the manual!
      sorry for the stupid questions...
but it wouldn't let me render it (render appeared grayed)
i set my memory partition to 25000-35000 how much ram should it be using?

It's possible that you placed your camera inside an object. Usually, povray will give you a warning (camera is inside a non-hollow object....). Your memory doesn't need to be set very high.
