Okay, Is it still a mystery how to get the AI to use mines?

Make the mines out of ships that have a weapon that destroys them when they fire it (ammo type = -999).
Glah. I changed my email so the system was supposed to send me a new password which it didn't. Why the heck did they not turn off editing player profiles if their mailservers are down? (That's what the problem is, isn't it? I'm not entirely sure.)
Zarkonnen
I figured it out! I got the AI to use mines!
The AI will use the mines reasonably effectivly, although it won't make an attempt to avoid mines others have laid...
Anybody want to know how?

Sure, go ahead, I'm sure these people and I would like your insight (so you didn't have to ask for their interest, I think that was given).
And Zarkonnen, the problem with your method is that you'll start getting close to the system ship limit if you have too many. That limit's a lot lower than the general sprite limit.
And about firing weapons that kill the ship -- asteroid storms in Frozen Heart kill themselves (with the weapon blast, not the weapon type), but as SD said, that's EVO, not EVN.

Make the mine a guided weapion with these charicteristics -
(1) Speed is 0
(2) Guided Turn is 0
(3) 'Prox. Triggered By Any Ships' Flag on, otherwise the mine would only hit it's taget (Unless this is the intention)
(4) 'Count' of 32767, so the mine sticks around for a while.
Now, I'd better get going, least I blab about the way to get diffrent kinds of ammo for the same weapon... (Mmm, Plasma and Atomic mines form one launcher )

Cool...guided weapon, that's a clever idea.
I'm assuming the rest of this stuff is Nova-only though (prox triggered by any ships I know, ammo from same weapons too?).

No, this menthod would work only in Nova. Try to have a deeper understanding before claiming it's already been done. And you could get the mine to drift, just <Removed to Protect trade secret >.

While were sorta on this topic, how do you make invisible weapons. Invisilbe means it doesn;t show up in the extras or ship info.

You can't. It will be displayed somewhere, even if it's just as a blank with a number or something like that.

I don't see why you would not want any information to show up in dialog boxes, most plug-in developers actually try to achieve the opposite of what you're asking, because it's hard to find the correct STR# patch resource ID.
But if you wanted to do it because you wanted them to be classified or something unidentifiable, then I would say that it was "<classified>" or "<unknown stuff>" something like that.
