The Kestrel has always had a particular set of characteristics: long, thin hull, short wings that are more like fins whatsoever, the pointy front, the dark grey, and the graphic that couldn't even possibly fit two lightnings into it ;). I myself think that these characteristics are missing...the wings look larger, more wing-like, and of course the color is different (which is alright). Also, it's wider. The Kestrel is by tradition skinny. See how you made the rear part, even not counting the wings, wider than even on the Raptor? To me, it's just not the Kestrel.
Don't get me wrong, it's good work from an objective standpoint, but to me it does not capture the essence of the Kestrel. In my opinion, it just differs to much.

The new Kestrel design has 2 engines as well while the Raptor has only one, which also accounts for it's breadth in the rear. You should see them in flight though. I may post some sprite shots after work. I need to get going to my job in a minute. And the new Kestrel looks more than big enough in sprite mode to house two fighters, though I may add a ventral docking bay to the model.
