What are EVO/3's limits when it comes to movement? If this question has been asked and answered before, well, too bad, 'cus I don't know.

It involves the range of movement of each sprite. Can they only move in that flat-planed, no-tilting fashion, or is there a third dimension? I know some of you are saying, "He just started making ships, and he's already talking about 3rd dimensions?" But I just wanna know ahead of time. I would like to be able to do that in the plug-in I make for EVO or EV3(it'll be Stargate, for those who care).

Is there a method by which movement can be changed in that fashion, through a plug-in or patch or some fine-and-dandy handy work. If there is no such method, can one be constructed? If so, how? If not, damn!!

Yes, I did try already. I increased the number of tiles to about 8x8, or 10x10, then added to the extra slots tilted pics of the models where they would normally just turn. As you may have guessed, it was a disaster. I'd rather not say what it looked like, let's just say you wouldn't fly a ship that flew like that one.

So, anyway, I've once again come up against a EVO brick wall.
Is there a way around it?

    • you'll have ship banking, and other neat features in EV3...

    • If there was a 3rd dimension, it would be basically (though not completely) 3D. Since EVN won't be 3D, a "true" 3rd dimension won't exist.

However, like DeAdBoY said, EVN will have cool things like ship banking that will make it seem more 3D.

    • One thing I do when rendering ships is moving the camera ( in the 3D modeler, I assume you are using one) down, to give the ship more of an angle. It's nothing special, it just lets you see the sides of your ships a bit more. I think Meowx Designs did that in Magma.

Okay, so there's no official 3rd dimension. But can one be created? And not just in EV3/N, but EVO as well(as it is the only test bed I have).

      Been there, done that.

I just want to be able to make a ship fly toward/away from the user.
