    • "Multiple weapons fire at the same time" problem

I noticed that in EVO 1.0.1 (I dunno about 1.0.0) when the "Multiple weapons fire at the same time" flag is active the reload rate of a weapon is modified as usual, giving you both several shots at the same time and better recharge rates.
Effectively the damage/second of this weapon is squared.

This is really annoying if you want to make a weapon with many shots at the same time, but a slow recharge rate. We can only hope for an improvement in 1.0.2.
btw. EV 1.0.5 doesn't have this problem.

    • This may seem like a stupid comment, but why not just decrease the rate of fire?
Unless you're talking about some sort of weapon that has an option to be fired individually or simultaneously while you're playing the game , that just sounds like a not-so-smart question.
      Sorry.

    • You cannot decrease the rate of fire in-game.
Say you have one of these weapons it would do a certain amount of damage per second (damage/reload)
If you have two of this weapon, reload would be halved and, as the Flag is set, you would fire two at the same time. Thus the damage per second would be FOUR times the damage/s of the single weapon.
With three wapons the damage would be NINE times the damage/s of the single weapon.
The damage would increase exponentially when buying more weapons.

If I want to equip two ships with different amounts of this weapon, I would have to make different weapons with different reloads so they shoot with the same reload while having different amounts of shots fired at the same time. That's not the idea.

The idea is that when you buy multiple weapons which fire all their shots at the same time, the reload would stay the same. This it doesn't, hence the post.

    • Sorry, I misunderstood.
That is a wierd little problem, isn't it?
I honestly can't think of a solution other than tweaking the game engine (I probably shouldn't attempt that, since I once actually destroyed all the important resources and had to reinstall the Data file).
Ask Ambrosia. They might, maybe, just possibly consider responding.
