Eyes of Fire
Chapter 11: Unification
Duios
The Alliance Eight Fleet had recently arrived in the system to maintain peacekeeping efforts in Duiosian space. Led by the skilled Commander Gaal ek Gaela name that people who could not speak Kayan fluently often thought sounded redundantthe Eight Fleet was comprised of the K.A.S. Seeker , the commander's warship, as well as 2 Laziras, 5 Aradas, and 10 Crescent Fighters. Gaal quickly assumed geostationary orbit above Hindros.
"Lieutenant, open a channel with the Disciple. I need to speak with Admiral Vichama."
"Aye sir."
Soon the main viewplate displayed the regal features of the admiral of the Alliance Third Fleet. Vichama dusted his uniform adsently, then addressed Gaal.
"Ah, Commander ek Gael. Welcome to Hindros Command. I'll be departing soon to finish our business in this region, and I expect fiercer renegade resistance this time. But before I leave, I would like to tell you about your duties here at Duios."
"Go ahead sir."
"Yes, well, the leader of Hindros is the High Idealist, an academic. Name of Tra'jun. He seems cooperative, but keep him under heavy surveillance. By the time Hindros has a delegation on Akrayhek, we'll have the shipyards here refitted to making an additional lazira every week. You're to make sure we make that deadline."
"Aye sir. Good hunting."
"Thank you Commander. I'll bring you some renegade hide."
"You're lying sir."
"Yes. There won't be any hide left after our weaponry vaporizes their ships."
Gaal chuckled. He signalled for the lieutenant to cut the communications, and boarded a shuttle down to the surface. He had to make it clear to this Tra'jun who exactly was the military power on this world, just in case any disturbances happened. As he was descending, he saw the Third and Ninth Fleets fire their engines and disappear into hyperspace. He smiled.

Tibidat
General Kon ek Gael had been assigned to lead the force that would unify Tibidat with the rest of the Alliance. He had told the Ninth Fleet that they were to expect stiff renegade resistance in the system, as it was likely with the joining of Duios with the Alliance that whatever renegades that had been raiding the Tibidat system were now cut off from an expeditious escape. Hindros sensor logs reported 1 Lazira, 5 Aradas, and 8 Crescent Fighters marauding Tibidat when he left. There was an equal number when he arrived, confirming his suspicions about the effect of the Duios blockade.
"All craft: activate cloaking devices and break into random flight paths. Meet back with the rest of the Ninth at the rear of the renegade lazira. Let's take out their artillery first. Ship commanders are to use whatever tactics they deem necessary to achieve our overall objective."
A chorus of acknowledgments followed Kon's order, and the fleet disappeared from renegade sensors. Kon's command lazira, the K.A.S. Emancipator , mamnaged to catch up with the rest of the fleet in time to fire its SADs at the time as the two other laziras. The rest of the fleet had also discharged a withering hail of phase fire on the stern of the renegade lazira. It's shields quickly fell and the SADs collided with the engines, creating a chain reaction that led to the ship's reactor core. The Alliance had recloaked by the time the ship had exploded, but soon decloaked behind other renegade craft and opened up with all weapons blazing. Two aradas were caught on the angry side of a volley of dispersal rockets after their shields had collapsed by concentrated phase fire, and promptly combusted, the fires subsiding quickly in the airless vacuum of space. By the time the renegade forces had been fully eliminated, the Alliance Ninth Fleet reported the lossof 1 Lazira. Kon hoped Vichama would deal proper vengeance against the renegades infesting Groned.
He moved the Emancipator into orbit around Tibidat, and the rest of the Ninth Fleet fell into place. The High Council of Tibidat was most pleased with the actions of the Alliance, being so kind as to transmit several holofilms of citizens dancing and celebrating in the streets. Membership in the Alliance was soon made official, and a delegation from Tibidat shipped out to Akrayhek on a Tibidatan freighter, a freighter that no longer needed to fear renegades.
Hours later, General Kon was sitting in the main communications tower in Tibidat City. He had acquired the starcharts owned by the Tibidatans, and was somewhat surprised to find that the Igadzra were only two hyperlinks away. Thus, he decided to contact them.

(-Message:
Salutations from the Akrayhek Alliance to the honorable Igadzra Empire. We have recently moved into this region to neutralize the threat of renegades to the innocent populations of the Strandless who have suffered for years at the hands of these pirates. We have fully cleansed Alliance space of renegades now, and would like to ask you if a truce between our two peoples could be established. Were such a truce ratified, we would not come into conflict with one another and instead live in harmony together in the galaxy. This way, you shall be assured of having no enemy at your back as you conduct your war against the Azdgari and Zidagar. We will also ensure that there are no pirates left in the region to trouble you.
Sincerely,
General Kon ek Gael of the Akrayhek Alliance

He leaned back in his chair. Now all he had to do was wait.

Groned
Admiral Vichama himself supervised the assault on Groned. There was high likelihood of renegade forces being present in the system, and Vichama had taken the liberty of checking Hindros' sensor logs before hyperlaunch. At the time, there had been 2 Laziras, 8 Aradas, and 10 Crescent Fighters registering renegade IFF transponder codes when he had departed. The number had not changed.
Nevertheless, he growled in anger over how long the renegades had oppressed the Strandless people of Groned. Which was why he armed his weapons before cloaking to ensure that he would get the first shot. He soon gave the order for the entire Third Fleet to cloak and conduct the standard Alliance cloaking tactic: hit the enemy in the engines. The battle raged on for an hour, with the Alliance suffering the losses, of 1 Lazira, 1 Arada, and 1 Crescent Fighter. The cloak was doing a remarkable job for cutting Alliance losses.
The people of Groned joyfully accepted full membership in the Akrayhek Alliance, and a delegation set sail for Kayia to meet with the other representatives of the Strandless/Kayan coalition. After the ground forces secured the shipyards, beginning refitting for constructing Alliance laziras, they moved out to restore order and make sure no damaging riots of looting occurred during the reveling.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.
