    • Um, Kauthor, we just removed the Zachit. I don't see what you mean by asking why we need them when we've already removed them (am I making any sense?).

And here are the histories and positions for all my major characters which I will be using in EoD II:

      Saharran Aunchon
      -Praetor of the Federal Directorate
-History: The son of a well-known Udun general, Saharran Aunchon is from a large family of military heroes dating back several centuries. Having once been promoted to the rank of brigadier general, Aunchon afterwards entered into politics. Having served as a Consul in the Directorate senate, Aunchon then ran for Praetor and was elected by a vast majority. Aunchon has just now begun his second term as Praetor, continuing to support the Federal Space Program.

      Andros Turon
      -Commander of the Federal Navy
-History: The leader of the famous Norkan Offensive, Andros Turon, from the very beginning of his life, wanted to join the military. The chance finally came after saving up enough money to enter the army as an enlisted officer. Andros later left the military, but he failed at a business he attempted to set up after he left. Once again, Turon turned to the military, and soon he entered the War Academy. After graduating second in his class, Turon quickly jumped up the ranks and was later promoted to Colonel. After the Norkan Offensive, in which Turon lead a small force against an aggressive neighboring country and defeated their huge army (which made him quite famous), Turon was promoted to Major General. It was then that the space program caught his eye, and after some work, Turon entered into the space program. Praetor Aunchon, seeing his potential as a commander, appointed Turon as the commander of the entire Federal Directorate Star Navy.

      Eirune Huros
      -Federal Directorate Admiral
-History: A close friend of Andros Turon, Eirune Huros often served with Turon during his military history. It was Huros who helped to get Turon into the War Academy. The two were good friends, and after Turon was appointed the commander of the Federal Directorate Star Navy, Turon was quick to make room for Huros to also enter into the program. After serving as a pilot for several missions, Huros was at last promoted to Admiral as the time approached for the true buildup of the Directorate navy.

    • I have just uploaded an info site for the Udun. It is currently located at: (url="http://"http://www.carnotaurhq.com/webstories/eve_of_destruction2/directorate_info.html")http://www.carnotaur...orate_info.html(/url)

I've also added a few more things:

-The Minerva-class Starship. Similar to the Athena, except with a tweak of the armor, much better engines, capable of carrying more stuff, and in general an all-around improvement.

-A few modifications to the status of my other ships. Some of them have been switched from "Under-Development" to "Planned".

-A few new extra techs near the bottom of the page. The Android, which is an AI-controlled robot which can do just about anything we can do, except its a lot stronger and better in most areas. I have like 100 or so of them. The small number is due to the fact that they are very hard to build. Second extra tech is the Shard Rifle, which is sort of like a super M-16. Fires special crystal shards which can penetrate a lot of stuff. Basically, a very nice infantry weapon. The third extra tech is a shotgun version of the Shard Rifle.

I now await a response from the mods.

    • I see. Then I will like to play the UE.

      ------------------

    • Right before I went to bed last night a thought struck me (odd eh?). Why are we even bothering with calling this a sequel to Eve of Destruction? At this point we have almost completely done away with any resemblance to the plot development that happend in EoD, so why don't we just cut the umbilical completely and do whatever we want with the plot?

I say we just start a completely new base plotline and let everyone get whatever government they want without it being held back by EoD's plot.

      My new plotline proposal:

Timeframe: 13 Years after the point where EV:O starts.
Setting: EV:O Galaxy excluding the Strands, South Tip, and Miranu systems.

For decades little had distubed the ongoing routine of the galaxy. War between the United Earth Confederacy and the Voinian Empire ground on in stalemate, independant human worlds sturggled to make a living, the human renegades kept up their petty raids, and the Emalgha fought their unceasing battle with the Voinians for survivial.

The Voinian Dreadnaught changed everything. While the U.E. had managed to discover the existance of the prototype under development in Isled, they were not able to mount a sucsessful mission to destroy it before the Voinians launched a major offensive. Striking hard and fast the Voinians launched a two pronged attack on Outpost Gamma and the U.E. forces at Pax Station. While Pax Station fell easilly, Commander d'Erlon of Outpost Gamma was able to make a heroic last ditch defense that allowed most of the base to be evacuted to Verril, as well as destroying a large portion of the attacking Voinian fleet. In order to keep their campaign from stalling the Voinians committed whatever forces from the rest of the Empire as possible, most notably Emalghion.

In some of the hardest faught battles since the first Voinian Invasion the Humans managed to halt the Voinians and hold them at Dogovor and Yandros. They built new defensive instalations in Sol and Verril and dug in until their own new weapons could be fully developed. After a year of fighting constantly to keep the Voinians from pressing their advantage fully, the humans had managed to develop a new class of ship to turn the tide of the war: the U.E. Cruiser. Using shipyards contracted from civillian corporations and a few independant worlds, the U.E. constructed two large armadas, each led by two of the first U.E. Cruisers off the production lines.

With these new forces the U.E. launched a major counterattack against the Voinians, eventually forcing them to fortify at Dogovor and Yandros, and spearheading an offensive that captured the systems of Avann and Mihal. From this point the two powers again settled into a bitter stalemate.

During all this the Emalgha had capitalized on the lull in attacks by the Voinains and had colonized a numbr of systems to their galactic west. Over the next several years their population began to steadily increase, their colonies expanded, their industrial capacity increased dramaticly, and their researchers began to design a new generation of Emalghan warships to fight the Voinians. Two years ago the Emalgha launched a major offensive, catching the Voinians completely by suprise. In one stroke they were able to capture Ekiup and Ekiup station, then sweep through Niot and Fridion before the rest of the Voinian fleet could respond.
      ---------------------------

This is as far as I'm going to write the plotline, from here you guys can do whatever with it. Here are the player slots I see as possible.

      United Earth
      Voinian Empire
      Human Renegades
      Voinian Renegades
      Human Independants
      Emalgha
Any other's you guys see fit to add

Up leaps the race of Earthmen, Out, far, and onward yet - Robert A. Heinlein, The Green Hills of Earth
"Saddam Hussein foregoes weapons of mass destruction (and) values human life." George W. Bush

    • I deem this to be a wiser course of action that a sequel, for several reasons.

1: The tech advances/advantages developed by the UE/Emalgha/Voinians are all void, thus allowing the players who choose these governments to work from their own ideas on this issue, and it keeps a reasonably even playing field in the beginning.

2: There can be no controversy over the old disputes of EoD (always a plus :D)

On that note, I request the system of Iothe as my starting government. Iothe will from this point forward be referred to as the Iothe Alliance.

      Regards,
      Solel

    • Um, Solel, I think someone else wanted Iothe.

Also, making this webstory smaller to get more players for the needed governments isn't going to work if everyone becomes an independent. Solel and Ipvicus, for example. We need to have someone actually join as the big governments or the webstory will still die.

If you are referring to Zax, he only posted once in the original EoD, and then never again. As far as I am concerned, that meant he dropped out. Therefore, I am playing as Iothe.

If there was another player who wanted Iothe, please go ahead and tell me who that is.

      Regards,
      Solel

    • You are correct, Solel. I asked him in another thread, and he said he doesn't want to do the webstory. Consider HIM out of the webstory.

      ------------------

    • Then I officially claim Iothe as my government. Thanks kauthor.

    • I'll take Emalgha.

By the way, I have a map, just let me know if you want to see it. I can send you both DevMap and pict formats.

    • That was not a complete map, Ipvicus. It didn't show the whole universe.

Can you email me that map? Also I can't make the meeting, but I'll go along with whatever you decide. Could someone email me and tell me what happens?

Kauthor; we are still cutting out the Crescent. The map isn't supposed to show the whole universe.
