MODERATION: I don't know why the new map isn't working for you, it's showing up as the new version on my screen. Is anyone else having a problem with the map?
Also, bronev plating is so heavy that the renegades will only be able to use it on Turncoats, unless they sacrafice weapons from a standard helian. Dospect armor is light enough to fit on Helians or Turncoats.
Continuation:
As the UE ships boarded the station, keeping the Voinians aboard too busy to deal with anything else, Thunder picked up a communicator painted red. All across the planet Hinwar operatives held similar comm units, just waiting for the message. Finally it came. "This is Thunder. The UE ships have arrived. Begin the insurrection. All operatives go!"
-----
Explosions rocked the Voinian military headquarters as multiple chaff grenades were launched by Hinwar resistance members. Soon they managed to breach the outer perimeter. Hinwar operatives flooded in through the breach, and firefights broke out all throughout the complex. The Voinians were heavily outnumbered, and were losing ground quickly.
-----
In the main docking bay of the Voinian shipyards in Liadon City, Voinian military officials were frantically running about, preparing to launch their ships to counter the UE threat. Several heavy fighters and two frigates managed to launch before Hinwar operatives blasted their way in, taking control of the docking controls. The main doors closed, trapping all the other ships inside. Meanwhile, on the floor below, Voinian and Hinwar troops locked in a massive firefight, but once again, the Hinwar had the element of surprise, and superior numbers. The Hinwar managed to capture first one heavy fighter, and then a supply ship, turning their cannons on the Voinians. The Hinwar definately had the upper hand.
-----
In the streets of the capitol, Resistance operatives in full riot gear paraded through the streets with megaphones. "Hinwar, our liberation is at hand, join in the insurrection! Throw off your chains and take back your world from the Voinian opressors! Join us!" Hinwar slaves, hearing the message, began joining in, fighting alongside the resistance. What began as a few million freedom fighters had spread to a worldwide movement, in which almost every Hinwar would soon be involved.
-----
Ten Hinwar operatives flooded through the doors into the Voinian munitions stockpile. Fifteen Voinian soldiers responded with neutron fire, killing two operatives immediately. The battle continued for nearly three minutes, until only two Hinwar and eight Voinians were left. "Forgive me, my friends..." One of the remaining Hinwar opened fire on a nuclear warhead, shattering the protective casing around it and setting it off. As he, his compatriot, and the Voinian soldiers looked on in dismay, it detonated. The explosion was visible from space; the shockwave flashed across the surface, leveling the Voinian military stockpiles and training facilities, and badly damaging the military headquarters. Nearly a quarter of a million Voinians and over a hundred thousand invading Hinwar operatives were killed. In the aftermath, the Voinian military headquarters was left in disarray. The resistance troops, having taken cover in what bunkers and ditches they could find, renewed their assult, pouring in through multiple breaches in the security. This time there was no counter-attack; the Hinwar moved in unchallanged and took control of the military headquarters. The planetary defense cannons and the remainder of the defense fleet were under their control.
-----
Across the surface, battles raged. The Hinwar forces, with the element of surprise, outnumbered the Voinians nearly 5 to 1, with more and more Hinwar civilians joining in as they realized the chance they had. Thunder, riot gear and all, broke down the door to the communications center of the Voinian military headquarters. Broadcasting on a wideband frequency to the UE fleet, he spoke, "The insurrection is underway. We outnumber the Voinians, and they are in retreat. We're launching captured ships to help defend the system from reprisal."
-----
Four UE fighters, and 2 captured Frigates, and 7 captured heavy fighters, all with Hinwar transponder signatures all left the surface and joined the UE forces in orbit. Cheers could be heard over all the comm channels as the Hinwar celebrated their first taste of freedom in over seven decades.
"Don't celebrate just yet..." a UE captain stated, " I doubt the Voinians will let this one go without retaliation..."
