My question is, what are the fundemental differences between the EV engine and the EVO engine? Before a thousand people explain to me in excruciating detail how much better EVO is, I think I'd better clarify what I mean by "engine." The galaxy is content; it's something that, given ResEdit, a 3D modeller, and enough spare time, you could create for either game. If EV:O allows ship scaling on-the-fly (which it does; that's one thing I know), that'd be the engine.
I've always been a diehard EV fan, ever since I found 1.0.2 (I think) on the the CD of the first issue of MacAddict. I tried EVO once, for about ten seconds, before the idea of re-registering combined with what I saw as ugly ship graphics to form a hulking monster of apathy which then strong-armed me into returning to my old flame, EV. Yup, I know everyone on the EVO board will tell me that EVO is better. I'm not looking for opinions, though. I just want to hear specifically what the differences in the engine are.
There. Hopefully this won't turn into a turbulent yet strangely repetitive sea of flames.
