Lonevoinian flies a Dreadnought...? I've NEVER done the Voinian missions, I've always been UE Loyal, so I'm now assuming if you play as a Voinian you get the ability to buy a dreadnought? Or do you get it fro ma mission? Or did he cheat? (GASP)

I always feel really good whenever I finish a really big mission or get into a really nice ship. I remeber when I got into my first CW, and then my first Voinian cruiser. I also remember when I first defeated the Voinian Dreadnaught without cheating, and the time when I got 4 escort Igazras and two escort CWs. And now there is the nice feeling of knowing that I have dominated over half the galaxy, and I'm still going strong.

Igazras....thats the one ship that gives me a lot of trouble. I can handle CWs OK, but they give me trouble too. One time I was in an Lazira, battling a Renegade CW, and his shields were almost depleted, and I eventually disabled him. I boarded him, and somehow managed to capture him and use him as an escort! The chances were 22% (I THINK, something around there) which was pretty high for such a big ship.
Anyway, I used him as an escort, and some moron renegade would come along, and my escort would go and launch his CFs....but they never worked...they would just go right back into the CW, he'd launch again, same thing over and over and over. I eventually just let him go, because he wasn't really much help.
To this day I don't know what happened.

Hmmmmm.I'm wondering what this 'monty python' maneuver is. Oh well, back to the topic. So, you wanna hear some nice battle stories, correctamundo?Hmmm. I've got a story of a battle:
Here I am, flying through space in my CW the S.S. Serpent, with my 8 or so CF escorts. It had no SAD's, 4 phase turrets, and 50 pursuit missiles. So, then, I'm flying through Emalgion and I spot the 'Disco Bison'! I launch out some Pursuit Missiles and he shoots some SAD's at me. It took them ages to hit me practially since I had an ECM and Zidagar ECM. So I'm still chucking missiles at him, and he's at about 30 percent armor (my fighters had been swarming him firing off their cannons, with surprising effect). So I get up close and fire off my phase turrets and I'm hit with his 'Disco Machine Gun' as I believe it's called, and we're both about to be reduced to scrap when one of my fighters comes in and gets lucky with his cannon disabling the bastard. So, I boarded him, took what cash he had, and saw a capture rate of 1. So I hit my capture ship button without remember I had maxed out my escorts and I couldn't capture a ship, but it said 'Oops! You tripped over the self-destruct mechanism!' anywho. And also, I had some shield generators, the thingy that increases shield regeneration, and the thingy that increases shield regeneration but is better than the other one. He takes his mug of Saalian Brandy and gulps it, the twirls his phase pistol through the air. And it was also a while ago when I had the Serpent. I'm thinking of purchasing another CW for my own ship....Ah well.

Pilot of a modified UE Destroyer, S.S. Firesnake. The ship is loaded with a few H Missiles and P Missiles as well as a few voinian Rockets. He himself carries a stolen phase pistol which he got from the captain of the A.S.S. Imprudent. Has no escorts whatsoever, since he dosent think he needs any.
LONG LIVE THE UE!!

Let's see... The best story I can think of is the time that I beat the Dreadnought in my trusty Arada. I was equipped with 4 swivel phase canons, a layer of Dospect armor, about 20 pursuit missles and a launcher. The Destroyer escorts were able to destroy the Frigates and do some minor damage to the Dreadnought, while I flew circles around the Voinian heavy fighters and took them out rather easily. Interceptors were a bigger threat, but not much. I was able to stay out from in front of them so that their rockets weren't a threat. Then, it was just me, the S.S. Skittles and that big lug alone. First, I flew circles around him, letting him expend all of those Salvo Rockets, taking minor damage in the process, before proceeding to Monty Python, while firing Pursuit Missles at him. About 10 minutes later I had beaten him, and my armor was down to about 15%. Yep, I was pretty happy. That is until I attempted to land at Outpost Alpha and was blown up by a stray rocket. Had to do it all over again. :frown:

You have to work for the Zidagar. It's been a while since I did the Zid mission string, but I think I got the starting mission from the Zid homeworld. If you've already become allied with another strand, go get the Triple Agent plug that lets you work for all the strands.

Lets see here... I really did this for a challenge, but I'll make up a story that would make it more realistic...
Several years ago, I was around when the first Dreadnaught was built, before the UE Cruisers were. I was a young, enthusiastic pilot back then, and Admiral McPherson learned about the Dreadnaught almost too late - indeed, all he could scrape togather to meet the assult was five UE Destroyers - My ship, the U.E.S. Hellraiser, the U.E.S. Dragonfly, the U.E.S. Marauder, the U.E.S. Vengence, and the U.E.S. Besserk - we were all rookies, but that day, we would all become widely known, respected members of the UE military. But before that, something would go very wrong - some renegade has thought it would be a nice prank to plant a space bomb on my ship - little did he know, he almost doomed mankind.
When we were passing through the Brakka system, my ship blew, and I ejected. The other four destroyers went on without me. When they got there, the proceded to kill the Dreadnaughts escorts, and started beating down on the Dreadnaught. The U.E.S. Besserk, however, took three rockets and was disabled. The other three moved the battle away from her, so she wouldn't get blown un by any stray rockets. They were just about to finishe off the Dreadnaught, when something no one expected happened... a Voinian cruiser slowed from hyperspace behind them. They, all having killed the Cruisers single-handedly, turned on it. But it soon became very clear that it was no ordaniry Cruiser. Soon, the U.E.S. Dragonfly and the U.E.S. Marauder had to eject, and the U.E.S Vegnance, with 5% armor, retreated. As he left the system, he managed to catch the trnasponder code of the Cruiser - the Borb.
As the U.E.S. Marauder docked at Outpost Alpha, he told me of the defeat. Then, suddenly, the Dreadnaught jumped into the system and demanded that the UE immeadiatly surrendered the system. The Defence fleet had just taken a huge blow from Catpin Cook, so they didn't ammount to much. The dreadnaughts shields were down, but other than that, it was impossible to tell how much damage it took. But I couldn't stand by and watch the UE government go down before my eyes. I looked around for someonw who would lend my thier ship. all the UE warships in the system had already been destroyed, when a rookie Frontier Express captin approached me and offered me his Freight-Courior. having no other choice, I took it. So I wen to face the dreadnaught in an completely un-outfitted Freight-Courior. I circled around it until my supply of Hunter Missiles was exausted, and then I moved in. I went on run after run, deftly avoiding the Nuteron bolts and rockets. It was the longest battle of my life, and then, the Dreadnaught was disabled, with my armor at 55%.
And then, the Borb came back. It seemed I was doomed. I managed to finish off 8 VH Fighters, not with 36% armor, but there was still the Borb, much more dangerous than the Dreadnaught, unscratched.
Where did this guy come from anyway? Isn't he supposed to be dead? And then suddenly, the unbelieveable happened: the Borb tuned around and according to my sensors, he was being hammered. And then, I saw something I'd heard about, but never seen myself - the U.E.S. Inconvertable. The Ghost ship had returned - and for the first time in history, the two greatest ships in the Universe meet face to face. They me each other hit for hit, blow for blow, until they were both at 0% Armor. I was disabled from a stray rocket now. However, the U.E.S. Inconvertable was now out of rockets and Hunter missles, but the Borb was still spilling out rockets. All hope seemed lot. And then, something else we never expected happened. From the U.E.S. Inconvertable flew a single UE Fighter - it had been saving it as a last ditch effort. The Fighter flew around the rockets that the Borb was spraying everywhere. The Borb then tried to retreat, but then from the UE Fighter came a single rocket. And for a few seconds time seemed to stand still. Then, with an explosion that semed to echo throughout the universe, the rocket hit it's target. I had never heard absoulute scilence before, but I hear it that day. And then, it was broken by an explosion that semed to shake Outpost Alpha - as the Borb blew up. Like all the other voinians, he had been to cockey to use an Escape Pod. We all looked around to find out hero, but he had vanished. All that was left was a single UE Fighter.

Yes, the Borb is supposed to be more powerful than the Dreadnaught. I actually surprised myself with that. (I made it up on the spot) I've been toying with the idea of working on ti a bit and posting it in the cronicles.

Hmm.... everyone seems to be telling about battles with the Dreadnought. I guess I'll tell mine. This happenned not but a few days ago too.
I was still in my UE fighter, the U.E.S. Immortal, when I jumped into the Isled system with a fleet of voinians awaiting me and my 5 destroyer escorts. So after taking out the bulk of the fleet, the destroyers were firing missiles at the dradnought and after getting close began firing blaze turrets. Now what made the Immortal so special was it had an exsp. shield generator, giving it an insanely fast shield regeneration. I had moved in and taken out some interceptors the dreadnought had released, flying around them firing as they turned only to find me right behind them again. I continued to use the same strategy against the larger ships, and their neutrons as well as rockets were having no effect, since the rockets were only on a swivel mount and I was moving faster than the neutron turrets could turn, but keeping my blaze cannons pointed and firing directly at the ships. I went to deal with the dreadnought, which was at about 85% armor when the destroyers went up in flames, and then I rushed in firing missiles which I had few of and my 4 blaze cannons like there was no tomorrow, which wouldve been the case if I didn't have the exsp. generator. So I'm being showered with salvo rockets and neutrons, when I'm still flying circles avoiding the rockets which were being fired in clusters at a time and firing off my cannons, and after about 20 minutes, the ship was disabled and I finished it off.

Wow....nice stories Digital Boy and ESPilot!
I have another story, I'll share...
I have never seen such a gigantic, furious insanely-quick battle in my life. I was doing the Zachit Missions, I had just sent the marines to the planet F-Whatever Blah Blah, near whatever pirate system it is in the north, the other one, not The Rock, I can't remember the names right now. Anyway, I was ordered to return back to the Zachit Staiton, and assault 4 or 5 Cresecent Warships, the Miranu Gunships would be there waiting for the stupid Renegades, so I jumped in, did a quick target scan, I saw the small cluster of Gunships, then warps in I think 5 CWs, all launching their Crescent Fighters, at the Gunships. There were so many CFs with cannons and afterburners blazing, I thought the Gunships were gonna be toast in about 2 seconds flat. They were able to somehow kill all but 5 Crescent Fighters and a Crescent Warship before they were all dead. This all happened in about 30 seconds too, I was able to get in 3 Hunter Missile shots before it all ended. Sure I was in shock, but still. I was literally like this --->
Anyway, this battle raged on for the shortest 30 seconds I've ever experienced. and When all but 5 CFs and 3 of the CWs were left, it was me vs them. I took out the CFs easily, a few hunter missiles and some monty python and my trusty swivel phasers worked well, as they always do. Another CW then decides to make things harder on me by warping in, joining the other three, making it 4 CWs and now 3 CFs vs Me. So I took out the three moron CFs, and headed for the big guys. 3 were grouped together, and one was alone and closest to me, so I fired up the afterburners, and went after him with hunter missiles piling up heading rightfor his bridge.5 or so missies hit him, taking his shields down a bit, I then circled around him over and over, and eventually he became disabled. I was unable to finish him off, as the other 3 warships were closing in on me. So I went over to the little group, again with phasers and missiles plenty, and after about 15 minutes of constant fire going both ways, I finished them off. What did I have left? 3 Hunter Missiles, near-melted phasers, and 25% armor. Craziest battle I've ever been in. Orders another round of Saalian Brandy for everyone Who's next?

Have you killed a Voinian today?
Stud- Sounds like a fun battle. As I was playing over the weekend I had another great battle:
In my UE Crusier, the U.E.S. Killer, I was wandering around cresent space looking ofr a good outfit shop so I could oufit my brand spanking-new Crusier. Since I expected to haging in the Cresent for a while, I had taken off my Blaze Turrets and Rockets, leaving me to five meager fighters and 15 Hunter Missles. I jump into the Notil system, and there was nothing. I was running low on fuel, and dicided to land. But the Igadzra didn't like me very well, because I was working for the Adzgari at the time. So I opened a hailing channel with the planet. And instead of pressing "Offer Bribe" I pressed "Demand Tirbute". So they send out Igadzra Aradas. Mind you, I had no fuel, and no energy weapons, all I had was Fighters and Missles. I gritted my teeth, and kept moving out of the system, hoping to recharge my fuel with my fuel scoops. As was my luck, an Adzgari Arada jumped in right before I demanded tribute. The Igadzra Aradas where getting closer, and despite the efforts of the othe Arada, they kept coming. They got close and took out my shields before I got my fighters out. By this time, the other Arada had taken out 1 Arada, and once my fighters were out, I sent them after the last Arada. It ignored the fighters, intent on pursuing me. They took him out, but my fuel wasn't enough for a jump yet. The planet then sent out an Igazra and an Igadzra Arada. The Adzgari Arada went after the bigger ship, leaving the Arada to me. I sent my fighters at it, and they killed it. After that, ignoring thst my fuel was ready, I took out 6 more Aradas and 3 more Igazras with the help of my Azdgari Arada. By that time, I was just about to die, so I jumped out. In the next system, I met an Igazra. It knew me from the previous battle ( I was most wanted in all Igadzra systems by then), and attacked me. I tried to hail it, but the No Reponse came. I sent my fighters out at the Banana Boy, trying to hold him off till I got clear for a hyperspace route, but in seconcds they were gone, and the Big Boy came after me. I was clear and jumping by that time, but just as I started, a SAE hit me! BOOM! I was dead.

Well I was in my freight-courier (the 'Oslo') and I was doing the part in the huron missions with capturing a renegade captain and was just jumping into Yelts when I realized that there were 9 Turncoats there! Unfortunately I jumped almost in the middle of them so I couldn't jump back. With the help of my afterburner I was able to get away from the Turncoats with 90% armor. I started blasting away at the kraits fully expecting to die but somehow I was able to destroy them all. I then waited until my shields were at 50% and went back to the turncoats. After ten minutes of monty-pythoning and a few random helians jumping in I finally destroyed them (except for the ren. capt. one I captured that 1), and considered myself a lucky man.

Chugs his new order of Saalian Brandy You guys wantin' to hear another story? Aight. This is one I did just earlier today.
I was doing a UE mission that was supposed to be a raid on Pariah, I had no escorts, just a few UE Destroyers that were helping my own UE Destroyer. I arrived in the Pariah system and the first thing that happens is I'm showered with needle missile after needle missile for a few seconds although the majority of them missed due to my Neddle Jammer that I earned. My first target was a Turncoat, whose shields were taken down by my Hunter Missiles, and along my way getting close I passed several other ships who had fired at me. I'd also been attacked in the system before Pariah, so I already had a few shields chipped away. I fired all 4 turrets at the Turncoat, and since it had been barraged by the missiles it was reduced to scrap metal in seconds. I used much the same strategy on the other 4 or 5 Turncoats, except I let the turrets do the bulk of the work. After taking out the Turncoats I had little shields and about 17 missiles. The other destroyers had been taking out the Helians and Kraits, so there were less of them than at the start of the battle. The Kraits that weren't being blown into next week were swarming after me, missing with their cannons while I took them out with hunter missiles, which it took only 2 of to take out a Krait. I was out of missiles and shields, so I used the best of my destroyer's maneuverability to evade blaze fire while I fired off my turrets like crazy, taking them out one by one and also regaining shields. After a few minutes there was nothing but me, the 3 destroyers, and a Helian. I flew up to him and in seconds reduced him to scrap with my turrets. I landed at New Alcatraz to recover shields and went back to Mestor for my payment.
Finishes off his brandy Well how'd ya like it? If you want, I can tell you about my toughest battle with the Flyin' Logs, as I call them. You might know them as the Emalgha Fleet, or the pathetic excuse of a fleet that it is.
