    • Hah, nice story ESPilot. The Nadir is always a fun battle, though never underestimate your chances. When I did that battle, I rushed in too quickly, and GASP  I actually died. I know its hard to believe, but this was before I got my Firebird-1.

    • I think I can shed some light on a few matters that seem to be confusing you, Stud. That thick yellow beam that the pirate Arada had - that's a Phased Beam Turret. You can capture his ship, but the weapon will disappear as soon as you visit an outfitting dock. Besides, I don't think you'd want to give up your ol' Firebird-1. Sounds like a nice ship. Outside of cheating, there's no other way to get the PBT. Second, Lonevoinian played through the plug-ins Reign of the Voinians and Reign of the Voinians II. During the course of the second plug, you allowed to purchase an Enhanced Dreadnought, which is the basis for Lone's "Invinci-naught."

A story? Hmm... well I do have a tale of an incredible encounter I witnessed just a few days ago. I was going off in my Lazira, the Blackshade to destroy the Dreadnought. When I jumped in, my Destroyers immediately attacked the Dreadnought, who dispatched them fairly quickly. Then, who should appear but the U.E.S. Incontrovertible. If you haven't heard of him, he's a really really tough UE Destroyer pers. He shoots the Dreadnought with his Hunters and launches his Fighters, and The Dreadnought start firing Salvo Rockets and launching interceptors and soon their caught up in a mighty duel. Wow. I hovered quietly out of range to witness the spectacle. I don't think I've ever seen so many missles and turret blasts on one screen before. The battle came down to the wire, when finally the Incontrovertible disabled the Dreadnought. With rare presence of mind, I stepped in and disabled the near dead Incontrovertible. I boarded the Dreadnought tried to capture it, failed, then destroyed it. The explosion knocked away the Incontrovertible, I stopped it with my tractor beam, and boarded it. He was carrying a cool 9 million credits on board, which I promptly stole. Then I claimed my prize for defeating the dreadnought, and I ended up with a huge lump of cash, and one hell of a story to tell.

Ooh I've got another story too... buy me a drink and I'll tell you.

    • Wow Samurai! That must have been a fun battle to watch! And what a reward! I've only seen the Incontrovertible once, and it was in Igadzra space. I went with the Azdgaris, so I wasn't really in a position to attack him, as 2 Igadzra Aradas and an Igazra were hot on my tail, so I jumped out of the system. Haven't seen the guy since. Buys Samurai another drink of his choice. 🙂

I'd share some more stories, but I'm sitll fresh out, I've been around the Crescent, around the Voinian Front....and yet nothing interesting or amazing has happened. Maybe I've participated too much in activities, and now all my enemies are too far pushed back, or just plain scared. 😉

P.S. Is there a way to modify your ship name without buying a new ship? I want to rename the Firebird-1 to A.E.S. Firebird. A.E.S. stands for Azdgari Earth Ship. I went with Azdgari and UE, so its fitting.

    • Hey! Got another story. In the story the passengers are really my dog. (orders more Brandy)

Lately I have been hauling around secret bases and other cargo for the Azdgari. I took some passengers to Xarnes to make some cash on the side. I find passengers really annoying, because they always hang around on my bridge asking "What does this button do?" and "what happens if a press this?" Well, once a passenger pressed the self-descrut button. Forunatley, I had installed a system that made sure no one but me knew how to detonate it. It was kinda funny watching all of my Bridge officers running for dear life. Anyway As I came into the Chak(?) system, my passengers pushed the Phase Turret fire button as I was scanning the system. So my ship fired at a Zidara convoy that I wanted to avoid. I had ordered my escorts to hold while I scanned the system. So it was me vs. about 5 Zidaras. Note: I was in UE Crusier, the U.E.S. Killer when doing this. It took me a while to take out all of the Zidagar Fighters, and all my shields were down. This happens often in the Cresent, so I had stole Bronev Plating from a Voinain Crusier to get me a load of armor. So I took on 2 Zidaras at once, blasting away my Phase Cannons.

Then I remembered my escorts I had told to hold. I called them in, making my battle much easier. The first part took me about 2 minutes, and the last 3 Zidaras were destroyed in about 10 seconds. Last time I ever take passengers with me

Now I enfoy ejected the passenger into space and watching thier reaction. I'm putting together a video of the best reaction. I'll title it: Annoying Passengers. Hey! Tend! More Brandy! Share some more guys!

OK then, bucko! Orders Sam another bottle of Saalian Brandy But, first, I must tell this battle, which happenned earlier today, which I had planned to save as a reserve for when I ran outta stories. But, I figured everyone would like this story. Here it is:

I'm cruisin' around in the S.S. Gargantuan. my Voinian Cruiser, with my mercenary fleet made up of a modified Turncoat (some named 'dude' whom I can't remember), an Igazra, an Azdgari Warship, a Zidara, BH's CW, and the U.E.S. Constantaine which I captured. So, we're cruisin' around Dogovor, preying on FC's and Destroyers like wolves. So, I see a Destroyer on my radar, and then I bring it up on scanners, and...when I saw what I saw i was like,!!! It was...it was..HIM!! The ghost ship U.E.S. Incontrevertible!! So, obviously, seeing me, a honored Voinian Captain in Voinian Space and him being UE, he bombarded me with missiles and launched his fighters. Now immediately all my escorts with fighters laucnhed them as well as long ranged weaponry (SAD's, SAE's, needle missiles, hunter missiles). So I took out the Incontrevertible's fighters with my SAD's, easy enough, but then there was the task of defeating HIM. I fired SAD's at him like there was no tomorrow and my escorts fired their weaponry as well. The Incontrevertible was about to 70% shields when I ran outta SAD's, so I got in close and fired off my new 5 phase turrets, which I aquired before going back to Voinian service. And my escorts (4 out of 6 of which were armed with phase turrets also), and I had the phase instead of blaze because phase weaponry is very effective against UE shielding. So, in the next 2 minutes I'm reduced to 13% armor, or somewhere around there and THE INCONTREVERTIBLE IS DISABLED!! And, all my escorts were nearly disabled, so I boarded the Incontrevirtible, finding a very nice and easy 100 m. credits, so I pushed the capture button, with capture percentage of 1, and I activated the self-destruct!! I then landed on Pax to resupply my shields, and left to Voinia, which, strangely, hadn't let me dock on Borb station, but after I killed the ghost ship, did let me dock there!

I kid you all not! This is a real and true story!! Right down to the part about them letting me in at Borb!!! Finishes his brandy Well, anyone else have some epic battle stories? Tell away mateys!

P.S. Everyone knows that the Incontrevertible is the former UE Flagship, but does anyone know who the current flagship is? (hint: the capitol of britain)

    • Yeah, it's called U.E.S. London, and it's a UE Carrier. I first saw it in the Huron system I believe. After seeing it whip a Turncoat in battle, I decided to leave him alone.

Oh really? What was his shields status when he finished trashing the turncoat? Just curious...Wandering if he's as powerful as the U.E.S. former flagship. 🙂

After making scrap outta the turncoat, I believe it's shield status was somewhere around 90%. It also had more UE Fighters and Blaze Turrets for a carrier.

P.S. Has anyone done the mission string where you raid Pariah and it becomes uninhabited? Well, when you land on New Alcatraz, you'll find you have acces to the shipyard, outfitting, and spaceport bar. And check this: In the shipyard, you can buy ANY, repeat, ANY ship from the EVO universe!!!!!!! And also, you can buy ANY outfit!! (weapons that can't be bought/sold not included)

Let me confirm, you do the raid on Pariah, then you land on New Alcatraz before exiting the system?

    • Samurai takes a swig of his brandy. He leans back on his elbows, and begins his tale.

"Well, I was going along doing the Azdgari missions, you know? And I came to the mission where I had to fly Squadron Firebird around the Crescent Rim and get them to Garit. Well, I was jumping along, (I was flying a Zachit Arada named The Avenger at the time.) I came into a Zidagar system, and I saw about three Zidaras hovering near the planet. Well, luckily two of 'em launch their fighters and come after me, and the other goes after Squadron Firebird. I put a little distance between me and the pursuing Ziddies, and shot the other Zidara with a Pursuit Missle to keep him away from my squad. Well, my squad is safe for a moment, but I got 6 Zidagar fighters demanding my immediate attention. They're coming at me in alomst a line, so I get a target on the back one and start firing Pursuit Missles and shooting swivel phase cannons. Once they were nailed by one missle, my guns quickly dispatched them. I escaped with only minor shield damage. I could've jumped out right now, but I'd miss out on the fun of fighting those three angry Zidaras. I steered them back toward the planet, preparing for a tricky Monty Python. Hey! Was that... no, I imagined it. There! Definately an SAE Module! Sure enough, we're headed toward a big red blip on the radar. I was in a quandary. If I turned off now, the Zidara would shoot me. If I kept on, I'd run into a hostile Igzara. As I pondered, the Zidara made up my mind for me, and fired off a Dispy Rocket. Instinctively, I doged to the right. The Rocket flew on and hit the Igzara dead on. The Iggie retaliated with phase fire, and soon, two Zidaras and an Iggie were caught up in a fight. I Python the remaing Zidara, stole his fuel, and jumped out of the system, with Squadron Firebird intact.

The whole thing coulnd't have lasted three minutes.

    • I had just recently finished all mission strings availible to me. I went with UE Finished it. I went with Azdgari. Finished it. I explored the nebulae. Finished it. I helped in making the needle jammer. Finished it. I saved Anna Balashova. Finished it. I helped destroy The Rock. Finished it. I needed a new challenge, I didn't feel like doing small UE raids on Ylynn, and I didn't feel like defending the whatever system from any threats, and I didn't feel like bounty hunting, and I didn't feel like going on Azdgari Raids. I wanted a REAL CHALLENGE! The idea of "Domination" sprung into my head! 😄 I thought over, while drifting in the Azdgari system, with Azdaras darting around me either trying to impress me, or just scan me, or bug me. Anyway, I thought over, "Who do I start with in the domination process? Voinians? Nah, too far away. Zidagar? Nah, fighters too annoying right now. Igadzra? Nah, I don't feel like fighting The Big Yellow ahem. Renegades? Nah, not fun. Then who?" If you haven't figured it out yet. "COUNCIL!" popped into my head. I dominated the whole galaxy in EV, but had never dominated even one system before in EVO. I have read in stories created that the Council uses Crescent Warships, ofcourse, those are stories. I didn't really know what I was up against, but I was expecting to deal with all varieties of Crescent Ships. A few Crescent Fighters, a few Aradas, a few Laziras, and a few Crescent Warships. I was partially right. I got to the Gadzair system, where I have been branded as "Galactic Scourge". How welcoming and friendly they are  ! So I landed on Gadzair, recharge the small dent in my shields made by a stupid Igadzra Arada and his stupid Dispy. rocket in a system or two back. After recharging, I took off, and scanned the system. A merchant arada was in the system, and nothing else. I hailed him, trying to make like a warning hail with the greetings and request assistance buttons, but he didn't get it, so I just closed the connection. I hailed Council Station, and got a friendly greeting of "What do you you want?". I ammused myself and asked for a bribe, they replied with "Are you trying to insult us?". This pissed me off. So I ended the conversation, and blasted the afterburners for a second, to get myself in "Monty-Python Position" and then rehailed the station. I demanded tribute and got back, "Eat vacumn sucker, our defense fleet is on its way." I responded by saying, "BRING IT B***H!" and ended the conversation 😄 ! Well, what I got next, reminded me of that horrifying battle at The Rock. Not 10, luckily, but 5 simultaneous fighter bays opening came through the speakers. WOOSH! WOOSH! WOOSH! Next I saw big red dots swarmed around the Station, and a mini swarm of 15 Crescent Fighters heading towards me  . I got ready to blast the bugs, and it wasn't as hard as the rock, but they brought my shields down a bit. After killing them, I saw, what I later called "The Original Cluster". It was the 5 Crescent Warships, all huddled together, keeping eachother warm. How sweet  . I selected my Hunter Missiles, and targeted my nearst hostile. My plan was to destroy one of the original cluster, thus making a spot for a new guy to come out, and keep destroying the new guy until only the original cluster remained. I knew, no matter what I did, if I were able to survive, this would take HOURS. But I was ready! So I began firing a barage of hunter missiles, and took his shields down to 63% or so. I then decided to reserve the remaining hunter missiles for later purposes. However, I made a fatal mistake. When the original swarm of CFs came at me, I had a little fun, and blasted them with phase fire AND a few hunter missils, thus wastign precious rockets. This was a fatal mistake because I, later on, could've REALLY used those missiles! Anyway, drinks a little Saalian Brandy I got up to the original cluster, and began hammering on the CW I had fired the hunter missiles at. Ofcourse, because this was a cluster, I got more of a hammering, than he did. Also, phase turrets fire farther than swivel phase cannons, so they had a MAJOR advantage over my battle-weary Firebird-1. I was able to, however, withstand the attack, by afterburning in and out of range, while hammering down with MY phase fire, eventually killing the guy. When he blew up, I zoomed off, as I was at about 20% armor. When he blew up, I heard the notorious, WOOSH! WOOSH! WOOSH! Of another Council Warship blasting off to replace the fallen one. The three little Crescent Flies came at me, and I blew them up, one by one. And because I had dragged the original cluster out so far, the new guy was all by himself. So I blasted over to him, after recouperating my armor and a little of my shields, and began hammering on him. This was MUCH easier then the original cluster, because, duh, it was one Council Warship instead of 5! However, I tried to kill him as quickly as possible, so I could get in a lot of kills before the original cluster caught up. I blew up 3 or 4 Council Warships before I had trouble with the original cluster. When they DID catch up, I was just finishing pummeling the 4th new guy, and he blew up. Now I had a major problem. The original cluster, made up of 4 Council Warships so close together it looked like 3, had combined with the 5th new guy. I blasted out of the phase fire, and prepared to kill the Council Flies. After killing them, I zoomed back, and found the original cluster, hadn't quite brought the new guy in. He was still kinda isolated, but they were in firing range if I circled around the new guy. This left me with monty pythoning the new guy, which couldn't really work well, as he had the range advantage. So I recharged the shields a bit, and prepared to endure constant phase fire. Luckily, the original cluster didn't intervene until he was around 3% shields. However, when they did come, I was also around 35% armor. So lasted out a bit longer, long enough to get the new guy to blow his shields off. I HAD to use my afterburners and jump away from them now, as I was around maybe 3% armor from all the phase fire. I had 8 hunter missiles left, and I used all but two, to finish off the new guy. Why so many? I wanted full recharged shields before I went back in, and this gave him time to recharge as well. I may be a faster recharger than he, but I had to recharge almost all my armor, and all my shields. So, when I blew him up, I had 2 hunter missiles left. And a new, new guy came out, and the usual had to take place. So I blew up the flies, and blasted back towards the original cluster and the new guy. Now I had a MAJOR MAJOR problem  ! The original cluster had split into two groups! At first, I thought, "Oh excellent! I can kill some of the original cluster, isolating two guys instead of one!" WRONGO! The Council Warships were literally, ON TOP of each other. There was no indication that there were 5 guys in those 2 groups. I didn't know that. All I saw were three big blobs on the radar. I zoomed past the first, and what I learned was a group of 2 morons, and got rained on by phase fire. I kept heading towards the 2nd group, and what I thought was one guy, split into two guys! takes a drink of his Saalian Brandy So the Original Cluster was now Original Cluster plus New Guy. I was basically screwed  ! I deicded to maybe try and kill two guys at once. I managed to kill one of them, but was in BAD shape. I was around maybe 15% armor when one guy died, and since this group was close to the station, I was bombarded by a Council Warship on either side of me. I tried to blast off and prepare to kill the flies once more, but, I could not make it. I was blown up before I could get out of their range. I went down hard, and not without a fight. And even though I was in defeat, I felt proud of my ship, and myself for being able to take down quite a few Crescent Warships! One of these days I'll be able to take over that blasted station.
