Another Lethe player? Geez, you're the third one. Cydonians are in for some trouble if they don't get some players...

Also, anyone is welcome to go ahead and join. All you need to do is tell me which government you wish to serve (you can even be independent if you prefer. Just select a system). We'll worry about rules and fleets just before the webstory begins.

Also, by becoming an independent player, you technically really aren't "independent." Depending on whom you decide to wage wars on or become friends with, that will decide your cause and reputation.

Skyblade, I think I mentioned this in an email, but it got lost in related subjects. Anyway, I would be willing to volunteer as a neutral mod, if you'd like. I and some other players still feel that having a neutral mod would be a huge benefit to the story. Think of it as a game master in a regular dice RPG, for example. I'll admit that having the game master be an active player is a less than ideal setup, no matter how fair I attempt to be. I would be willing to fill on on pretty much any side except the Confederation if needed, though.

Ok, just thought of something. One reason all the Battle for Sol webstories got out of hand was because of the large numbers of ships. Therefore, I'm going to greatly decrease the amount of income for each government in An EV Webstory, and possibly raise the price of the ships. A large fleet could be considered as three cruisers, five destroyers, fifteen Mantas ect. That way, you can be much more detailed in how you fight your battles, yet not have to worry about the constant strain of large numbers. It would be more "EV-like" as well...

I agree that the galaxy is a little bit bigger than the world's ocean, but it shouldn't be unproportional.

Hmm... no one's gonna be Pirate? I sorta wanna be one, but everyone would hate me! AHAR! Howabout I'm an ex-Pirate, now Cydonian? Yeah! HARHAR! I will be part of the Cydonians, because they're almost as ruthless as the Pirates! YARHAR!

So, do we all start out with a shuttle or the lowest class of the government's ship? (i.e. Manta, Patrol Ship, Defender) Oh yeah, I guess that would count as a rule. I can wait. I'll keep checking up. I just hope it doesn't have as many rules as most of those EV RPGs out there. (BfS :p)

The Midway force was only large in that sense if you count all the supporting fleets that never really became engaged, and the diversionary fleets. - The rebels should have a few more Core Worlds - Sirgil and Tiber, plus probably Adhara and maybe even Atropos. I usually think of those as sector capitals.
- You really need to set that map up in a frame, like I have. It works way better that way.
- Lethe and Cydonia should probably be limited to 2 players each, to keep things realistic.

As for my role, I might be willing to be Cydonian leader if no one else steps in, though you may end up regretting it if you let me. <cryptic evil grin> I could also run a coalition of independent worlds, as David did in BfS I, or possibly both, depending on how you want to do things. If I joined Cydonia I'd have to give up neutral mod, though I might be able to do that if I was aligned with a group of independents - they are neutral, after all. I remembered I don't want to fill in as a Pirate under ny circumstances, too.

Would I be able to allie my planet which a goverment. Also I think you need to change the color of the independent systems when somone becomes the presedent of them. In that case my color is Bright Red. Also What kind of fleet can I have. Since I'm an Idependent system could I have reb. and confed ships in my fleet through the story..

I beleive that Skyblade has a shipyard that lists all of the ships available to Independants, as well as all the other govs for that matter.

My Question: Since the Rebels get the mission related Escort Carrier, will the Confeds eventually get the Particle Beam?

My Suggestion: If there is to be a nuetral gamemaster/moderator type person it would be cool to have the GM assign secret goals to each gov at the begining of the game (kindof like missions). Completion of these missions could result in the gov getting extra income or new tech plus they would get a new mission. These could also be storyline enhancing missions that that would not only add a more EV touch to the game but would also give it an extra layer of depth.

Besides, id I wind up with the Cydonians as is possible, I think I'll likely be the President.

I also like your suggestion. Ther'll be some of that in a way if I wind up Cydonian, and a lot (pending Skyblade's approval) if I wind up GM.

Space Between: So is it Cydonians or Lethe?

Mac: If my memory serves me correctly, Yamamoto's Midway task force was as follows:

6 carriers (Akagi (flagship), Kaga (battleship converted into a carrier), Hiryu, Sorya, Shokaku, and Zuikaku. Hiryu and Soryu were the smallest of those six.

2 Battleships: The Kirishima (sunk at Guadalcanal) and the Hiei (also sunk by the U.S.S. Washington at Guadalcanal).

2 Heavy Cruisers: Tone and Chickuma

1 Light Cruiser: Abukuma

11 Destroyers: Tanikaze, Urakaze, Isokaze, Hamakaze, Kasumi, Arare, Kagero, Shiranui, Akigumo, Akebono, and Ushio (I had to look up these destroyer names again to remember them all :p).

After Midway, the heavy cruisers Kumano, Mikuma, Mogami, and (I believe) the Atago also joined the battle.

I'll be glad to make you the Cydonian leader.

Jager: You originally requested me to put you with the Confederation. I'd really prefer that you guys keep the positions you first wanted... It's really making these hard.

Each independent system will get their own shipyard, as well as color.
