WOW, I had no idea the community for EV was still 'there'. I thought like so many games of its type the community fades and goes off to other games.
I know many communities don't appreciate rambling, or related, but I wish just to introduce myself, and get over the excitment of reviving an old devotion and in a friendly manner find myself in a community I was previously unaware of.
Man, seeing this site and seeing the ships just brings back memories. I used to play EV avidly, was writing a plug-in too large a scale to complete (like so many others). Until I lost possession of my G3 years ago and moved onto a PC. A changeover I was much appreciative of, but the largest loss I had was that of EV.
I would find it worth it to run a small mac emulator to play EV on my PC. Could anyone fill me in on huge things I missed? I was there for the release of Override. However the somewhat gritty graphics got to me. The new ships seemed just too like they ran out of ideas. However I remember some awesome mods, and some uncanny talent. After seeing this board I spent a good hour looking over my backups that have survived from my g3. I found one highly unfinished shot from a set of ships I was developing.
To avoid trying to post this image, annoying some, Ill leave you the link :

Its not nearly as detailed or superior as the pics my brief browsing has shown me, most particular those by Captain Skyblade, but the image is dated, and a reflection of my skill and creativity years ago, however don't let me sound prideful, I still feel Captain Skyblades model remakes are phenomenal and far better then my ability.
edit : I have read more on the board and seem to have found info on this: In addition, I'm sure this topic has come up in miniscule numbers, and futily so, but is there any remorse for an EV addict, in ownership of a PC?
To conclude my quite elaborate Introductory post, My coding skill has reached level far greater then that of years past when I played EV. However that knowledge is based off of web based application coding, similiar to that of C++. A goal of mine for many years is to recreate that experience that EV made, but for a PC game. Any thoughts on this?
Anyways, time is money, as they say. So I'll stop taking your money with my 2 cents.
Peace-
