I've got a couple of PC gamer friends (ignorant fools for liking PC games over EV). How do I convince them that EV is good?

Threaten them with knives. 
If that doesn't work, get some software to use on their P(ieces of)C(rap)s so they can use it, or show them your game. If they still don't like it, try harder or give up. Friends can be annoying some times.

I found you can impress them with the diversity of the game. Showing them my big hulking Confed Cruiser blast a group of incoming fighters in a matter of seconds, and then switching to my "fleet" of Rebel destroyers (in another pilot) and pirating the pirates. Then I let them play it themselves. They liked it very quickly after that and joined the group of PC gamers that want it ported to their substandard 
computers.

Luke is right. It's the only rational answer. Knives are good but guns work well too!

Yes, yes, I tried convincing my friends at work, and they didn't listen. So the next day, i came in with an AK-47 in each hand, threatening to blow their heads off if they didn't- just kidding. I showed my friends the game, and they LOVED it!
first make em a new pilot, show them the basic keys like m is map l is land y is comunicate etc... and when they have done some missions and want some action load your rebbel cruiser pilot (if you have 1) and let em play around with it... soon they will be begging for more
thats how I did it anyways

My best friend (PC-user) liked EV the first time I showed it to him.
"Can I be your gunner?" he asked as I started a new pilot to show him how it works.
"Uh... sure." I said. Shuttlecrafts got no weapons. 
Unfortunately, even though he has an old Mac in addition to his "fancy" new PC, he doesn't have the net on his Mac and he doesn't want any adapter programs. So he always plays it in my house. :rolleyes:

hmmmmm, I c... maybe you have some Mac cd`s with demos on it and if your lucky EV may be 1 of em, thats how I found out about it

I'll try those things. But, these guys are graphic freaks. If there's one jagged edge one of them will yell out, "Jaggie!" I'll try it though.

The way I have found to get PC users to like EV and curse their infierior computers at the same time is to: (A) dirtect them to ardi.com where there is a free (albiet slighty crappy) demo of a Mac OS emulator. (
Get them to download EV by allowing them to play your copy, telling them about the game, threatening to use corpral punishmen, etc. 
Within the 30-day trial period of the emulator, it can be assured that the PC user will bcome addicted to EV. (D) When the trial period on the emulator runs out (it then shuts you out of the program), don't tell them about the hidden file on their computer that prevents them from simply re-downloading the emulator demo, and watch them grovel for a chance to play EV on any computer that is capable of running it. They then have three options: (1) Pay the $150 fee for a full version of the emulator :frown: . (2) By a Mac and become a convert to the anti-PC crowd . (3) Sell you their soul for the right to play EV .

Hmm, I've never seen any cases of fatalities from EV... though I have heard of far too many involving guns. Perhaps you meant EVO kills people, when they get so shocked about how much worse than EV it is? 
"Worse" is of course a relative term - the game is actually quite good. But still...

Its really simple to get a PC user to convert to Mac(and from there the person will surely play EV). Just figure out where they live. Go to their house and destroy their PC and any PC only compatible stuff. Repeat until they get a Mac.

Well, as a PC user, I must say that I indeed love EV, to the core. But I just can't bring myself to buy a MAC just to play the one game. And I'm sure as heck not going to use a MAC for ALL my computer needs... I'm not CRAZY...! hehe.

Actually, I find you quite crazy for wanting to use a P iece of C rap for your regular computing needs. Voicing an opinion like that is probably not going to win you a lot of repect on a web board for a Mac only game... not the wisest career move I've seen, so to speak.
