    • Ferazel Format Stuff

The following is a collection of a few things I've realized while looking at that FerazelFormatStuff.h, which, thanks to aschaaf, I've finally discoverd 😄 (and yes, I know we already knew about some of these)

      Max Sprites per level: 512
      Max Map Nodes: 128 // = 128 max levels
      Max inventory items: 27

Also, the file refers to "IDs of PICT resources to show at the beginning or end of the level"
I don't remember seeing something of the sort in MASCOT (correct me if I'm wrong), so I plan to look into it. Could this be part of what happens when one beats the Xichra level?

    • In the Extra Level info, info 27 gives the chapter ID which can be changed, but the end level ID (which presumably is 159/4600) is not editable without the source code, or at least not that I know of. So we have to use the Xichera ending if we want to finish our games neatly. Which gives me an idea ... /me goes off to the other board to edit my wish list.

On sencond thoughts I suspect that the ending is tied up with the Xichera sprite. Has anyone tested this?

    • Yes, I believe that the Xichra sprite is the one that calls for the credit sequence. In case anyone made it, Dr. Tall Land's final boss is fighting two Xichras at once. It doens't matter which you kill, once one is dead, the game ends.

    • Erm. I take it FerazelFormatStuff.h is one of Ben's original header files? And how did this get into public hands?

Ben released it onto the boards himself shortly after he released Mascot. I can't give you the exact date because when I went back to look for it just now I couldn't find it, but it was before he left Ambrosia.

Oh, and I think the max levels limit is really 100 levels now.

That link just brings you back to the Ferazel Hacking board. I can't find the topic. It may have been removed, bearing in mind the amount of grief that seems to be attached to anything that remotely concerns Ben.
