    • The closest simple thing to the cleanlegal modtype that works for Fake IDs

I've found the IFF Scambler modtype to be the simplest thing usable to stop ships from attacking you because the government hates you (besides blasting the crap outta em). With this, working Fake IDs are easy to make. You dont have to make it so teh item starts a mission. Just use this and give it a pict and desc. Hopefuly, the clean leal modtype will work in 1.0.1...

Aren't you ripping people off when you give them a penny for their thoughts and they give you their 2 cents?

Go check out (url="http://"http://kevin.sb.org/evnova/")this(/url) site and download my FakeID plug. It has a useable workaround for the cleanlegal modtype bug. I ended up using an ncb, a mission, and a cron in addition to the outfit to get it to work. But it works. Go check it out, and copy/modify it to do what you want.

    • I got it to work without using an ncb. But I needed a separate Fake ID for each gövt.

I copied a silent self-abort mission from the Auroran missions section. Then I just made up an outfit to start the mission. The mission applies the payval when it self-aborts (this is in one of the flag fields) so the effect is immediate. I even got to Gli-Tech (see my EV Nova Questions thread).

Right. I did that same thing, but I decided that being able to buy a Fake ID and keep it was a bad thing, and the $0010 (I think that's the right flag) flag is broken (the outfit that removes itself after buying) when you trigger a mission from the OnPurchase field. To solve that, I had the mission remove the outfit from you, but that didn't disable the Buy field, so you could buy infinite Fake ID's at once. So my solution was to have an ncb as the Availability field !b9996, then the mission sets b9996 and removes the outfit. Voila, Buy button disabled. Now, to let you buy it again, I had a cron that simply removes the b9996 flag if you have it. Now, when you take off and land again, you can buy it again. It simulates the behaviour of maps just fine, only it requires an ncb and a cron.

    • It's been a while since I did stuff like that, but isn't there a value that you can enter that clears your legal status for ALL governments? I know that there was for EV, and I believe that there was for EVO, so I have no reason to believe that there isn't a way to do that in EVN.

      Matrix

      Captain: What happen?
Mechanic: Someone set up us the bomb!
      Operator: We get signal.
      Captain: What!

Yes. Unfortunately, that still relies on the Clean Legal Record ModType actually working. Which it doesn't.

I haven't seen mine show up as an outfit in my ship extras. I know its there again when I return to a system, but I haven't tried just taking off and landing.

I'll have to put these in a separate plug and upload them (if I can figure out how, I've never uploaded anything yet) so you can see what is in them.
