I can see.... a UE destroyer and two squads of unpainted UE fighters, but what are those ships they're blowing up?

This is something I have also wondered about. I think it's an early concept of a Voinian warship.

I think they did the title screen BEFORE they did the actual game. Even the UE ships don't look the same.

Those ships would be cool if they were real (hint, hint, Ambrosia, EV#3 HEEHEE)

The blue ship is a turncoat. Notice the three needle launchers on top and the kraits below it.

I always thought it was UE Vs Voinian. I thought it was a Cruiser, two fighters and two frigates.

I couldn't imagion it any other way. The UE ONLY attacks Voinians and HUMAN renegades.. and you never see a turncoat anywhere NEAR a Voinian. That's why I thought they were Voinian only.

Personally,
I think that It's a cross beween a UECruiser/Destroyer
A Cresent warship(still in development) with some cresent fighers
and the pointy think is a Vonian Station! Because It Looks So Pointy

You guys don't look at the obvious. First of all, its not a crescent warship, because cw's don't look anything like that, and crescent fighters aren't even close to looking like anything remotely resembling the fighters. The UE ships are obviously a destroyer and some fighters. Everybody has said that the other ships look either voinian, or crescent, but few say they are renegade. The blue ship is obviously an early model of the Turncoat, and those little suckers are Kraits.
I hope I'm not wrong.

Lets ask Andrew. Andrew, if you read this, what ships are those on the opening screen of EVO?

Guys, they are earily designs of the Vionions, not renegades, not crescent warships! Think about it in size! It can't be renegades bercause those fighters are too BIG to be Kraits, second the ships in no way shape or form have the ripple things the Renegades do. So that would rule out earitl Renegade, leaving the Vionion. Question is what are the fighters shooting at the ship blowing up? Those sure ain't Hunter missles and I doubt they are needles, cuz needles don't do that much damage!

Incidently, I'm surprised that I'm the only one whose seen the OTHER title screen. I remember seeing it in a beta of something for EVO 1.0.1 Those are Voinian ships. The other title screen has later model Voinian ships in place of those early model ones. Yet again, THOSE ARE VOINIAN SHIPS.

Ok we had a couple HUGE discussions on the old oldie board about this very topic. The ships on the right are obviously a UE destroyer and UE fighters, different colors but more relistic looking for the Title. The ships on the far left that are getting their butts kicked are Voinian Frigates, they look slightly different from their final product and have changed colors, again to make it look more relistic for the Title screen. The last big ship is an early early Voinian Cruiser with Voinian fighters. You can kind of see the Cruiser in it, but it has since been drasticly changed, escpecially the color. The Fighters below are heavy fighters, majorly changed of course. There thus ends the discussion.

When aplying logic, you can easily figure out this problem:

1. You are human
2. usually, the ships of your government are usually seen closer to you; it's a "we, them" situation.
3. The central objective that you are first shown, whether you like it or not, is the UE central objective.
4. the main conflict of your people, so in general, the whole entire game, is the UE/Voinian fleet (not far from first is the UE/Renegades conflict).
5. There is no way in hell why a standard UE ship would attack a crescent warship, azdgari warship, or any crescent ship at all, unles in UE space and causing problems.
6. The very shape of the 1st person perspective is a UE destroyer
7. can't you see the UE insignia on the ships fin?!
8. the shape of the enemy on the left is very similar to the shape of a voinian ship, if you look at the two bridges on the sides that kinda look like wings.

So by the process of elimination, they are UE ships vs. voinian ships

I think there's 1 UE Destroyer, 6 UE Fighters, 2 Voinian Frigates, 1 Crescent Warship or a Turncoat, 2 Crescent fighters or Kraits, and 1 Voinian Frigate or some other ship exploding.

Maybe the big blue thing is a EV/EVO clone? Its got some EV over it, and it appeared at the old Escape Velocity site, before all was moved to AmbrosiaSW.com... Just a thought
