    • It's interesting how much of this stuff you are talking about are already features in EVO 1.0.2.
      Gildor made some very good points, but I have more:
      outfits with multiple attributes
      In EVO 1.0.2, they can have two attributes

      RCS upgrades should NOT require you to change the hull shape, as there's no air for it to matter in space. it should not even be mentioned
      Come on! It's just a description. It's not like you have to press some (manually change the hull shape) button! It's not realistic, sure, but not much of EVO is.

      like the smoke trails on missiles! I can't see a thing with 500 missiels going!
      You CAN turn off smoke trails in the prefrences menu.

      Along with #3, you could have it so the plug designer provides the ship's mass and a thrust . Then when you add more weapons/cargo, you, umm, speed up slower (accelerate less rapidly, I guess)
      Go ahead. Just set an outfit, which, for every ton of mass it adds, has a second attribute which takes away 5 (or so) units of thrust.

      Computer controlled landing/Manual Landings
      It's really not hard. Just press Autopilot and accelerate towards the planet, then when you get close reverse direction and slowly accelerate as you come nearer to the planet. Computer control would probably just make a mess of things (i.e. as your ship draws close to the planet, you get his with a high impact missle which takes you away from the planet. Computer fails to notice and tries to land repeatedly in outerspace).

      You can increase the size of the crew beyond what came with your ship, but with a sacrifice to cargo space.
      Give marines mass.

      Render the ships from a 3/4 perspective, not a top-down one.
      From the screenshot of EV3 rendering capabilities, which shows a non-EVO ship, it looks like they will be rendered from a 3/4 perspective. (just a guess)

      Give us a reading of how much armor the other ships have left.
      Possible in EVO 1.0.2, just not implemented.

      Perhaps a motion-blur for fast-moving ships
      Motion blurs are caused by cameras with slow shutter speeds and by the slow "shutter speed" of the human eye. Since EVO/EV3 has a slower "frame rate" than real life (i.e. 20 or so fps as compared to infinite "frames" per second), the motion blur must be artificially rendered and could be quite processor intensive for slower Macs.

      Bounty Hunters will appear in Renegade infested North tip/South Tip areas, not just north of the Proxime Nebula

      Any ships that are intended to be in combat zones will come with escape pods
      Ships can come with outfits in EVO 1.0.2

      The captins of Freeport will always protect that system(they will always appear there)
      With EVO 1.0.2, you can have ship always appear in a certain system.

      More fleets, persons(S.S. Sparky, etc.), disasters, etc.
      You don't need EV3 for that.

      Make a few strings of missions that the player has to look for (hidden strings)
      Plugin designers for EVO don't HAVE to make their strings blindingly obvious.

      Bases that are devoted to scientific reasearch each have a few unique outfits that only they sell
      Use SpecialTech.

      The council has more than one ship partoling the galaxy
      Do it with Përs in EVO 1.0.2

      ***You can run a few misc errends for the council - but they just pay you and they never tell you anything about why you're doing them

      *A fake ID would give you a clean record across the galaxy, not just in a little part of it

      *Turrents don't take up gun slots

      *The Nadir's transponder code will appear as "Outcast", not "Renegade"

      *The Nadir appears in ind. systems prior to his destruction

      *Strandless Milita uses Aradas too, and Lizaras, but the last one is rare.

      Once you're working for the UE government, you can ocasionally take missions fom other departments(UE Search and rescue, UE exploration)*

      All of this stuff is possible in EVO 1.0.2. All you need is a plug-in to make 'em.

      Not the kind that hunt you down after you couqure a planet - the kind that just appear in those systems and fight Renegades. there are several that will appear in the independant worlds just south of UE space, like Kestral, Emerald Blade, Third Canarie, etc.

      You must have overlooked what i said in my first post. I am making a plug-in, and that post was to give people an idea what i had come up with in addition to what they had came up with.

      And, I origionally came here to announce that the plug should be ready for an inital release in about a month, but if anyone wants to recieve a beta/tester version prior to the release, post you're e-mail adress and i'll send it to you as soon as possible.

    • Also, the liquid hydrogen weapon wasn't very realistic, you're right, but the idea is cool. Besides, we could call it MAGNETICALLY CONTAINED Liquid Hydrogen Torpedoes, and then it would be realistic. If you add MAGNETICALLY CONTAINED to the front of any weapon, it legitimizes that weapon.

      You're silly. Liquid hydrogen isn't exactly antimatter. It needs an oxidizer to become volatile.

    • Ok, i'm going to need some modified ships for setting up a secret base on an uninhabated planet that only you and you're friends are allowed to go to. If you have an idea for a ship that is realistic (Don't have a UE fighter with 3 layers of Bovean Armor, or a Dreadnaught with anything, etc.), go to the post "Kick ASS Ships" and post it there. I'll be looking at that list and taking the best ideas from it, and the poster's screen name will be the name of the person in the game. Or if you want, you can post it here. Either one. But i suggest that you chekc out "Kick ASS Ships", there are some pretty unique ship ideas there - including one that i wouldn't ever have considered, but i may look into it now.

    • Two more things i came up with that'll be in my plug-in:

      All ahips can be disabled(just give the three ships with no armor .5 armor - you can disable them, you just can't get too trigger happy)

      Ships won't attack you just because you're flying one of thier enemies ships

      That's all for now.

      Oh Yeah, my current plug-in(Paralell Universe) is almost ready for the initial release. Only a few more days now :).

    • Actually, I'll just start a new topic to get ideas for ships. Let's just keep this one for plug-in ideas.

      As for weapons, I'll proably include a flak-type weapon, a bomb that'll send out a shockwave that damages anything it hits, and some turrent/cannon that firse all waepons at once.

    • Yeah i'm making a plug in at the mome, it probly won't get finished 'cause i'm the kind of plugmaker that uses only Ev edit. I was going to make some ships that fire all guns at the same time, but take a bit to reload. I wanna know when a new ev edit will be out, ben chess kicks arse!
