I think it would be cool if there was a movie based on one of the Escape Velocity games. They could make the ships look like they do in MAGMA. We all know how good movies based on video games are but EV would probably be different. Would Ambrosia ever let a production company make an EV film ? (for a price of course 
)

i have a friend who does computer animation, and i might be able to get him to do some animations for us. anyone else got any resources? we could make a fan-made version of EV the movie! ofcourse, ambrosia would need too give us copywrites ect

I believe we should go back to hoping for EVMP. Comparatively speaking, this is more likely than an EV movie.
However, suppose if we can tell Andrew that he will star as "The fearless leader of the Rebellion" or "El Presidente of United Earth," it might be enough to get him start moving in this direction...
A movie like this could either hugely suck ass or be pretty cool. I wonder whether it should be EV or EV:O, tho'. I'm thinking EV:O cause you could have him go out and explore and meet the Miranu etc..

ever since i got EV off of the "Macworld gaming megapac" cd i thought it would be awesome to make a EV or EVO movie. personally i would want EVO, Better storyline. Or it could start off as EVO and melt into EV. Whatever. It would be awesome.

The voinian starts to launch his fighters. More Cruisers enter the system. More Frigates, Interceptors, and heavy fighters come in as well.
Narrarator: The battle of Sol was the worst battle in the war against the voinians. (Cruisers launch space mines. Huge explosions rock against both ships) UE Carriers were put into mass production in anticipation of this battle. UE mosquito fighters were launched from Earth and Luna. Admiral McPherson along with Admiral Tzu and General D'Erlon would take there UE Destroyers and fight for their right to exist. (UE Destroyers are launched from Earth along with UE Carriers and UE Fighters) Blaze turrets would light up the sky and Voinian rockets would crash through UE shields. They kept on fighting bravely though. It was amazing to watch as small fighters took out capital ships (Cruiser is starting to explode while UE fighters fly quickly away). Both sides took heavy blows (UE destroyer is flaming and going down) but soon the voinians mistake was clear. They attacked Earth on their home ground. They were quickly destroyed and were driven out of Sol (Flaming and damaged v. ships leave the system). United Earth was victorious. As they chased the Voinians they drove back the frontier to the Yandross, Dogovor, and Bakka. Even as the voinians created a station at Dogovor, it won it's independence with the help of the UE (Rise and fall of voinians control over Pax is shown). Treaties were signed (voinians and humans sign a paper) there and things like space mines are outlawed. But the frontier is far from quiet. Humans and voinians make strikes at each other every day. It is an ongoing struggle between both sides but hopefully, the humans will prevail...
(screen goes black as the main character has launched in his small shuttle)

(Scene opens showing the Earth and Moon from a ways away. A tiny speck, barely visible, is seen flying off from the moon. The camera slowly zooms in on the speeding ship.) Narrator (later turns out to be main character's voice): After centuries of space flight, mankind developed it's greatest dream: the hyperdrive. (The space ship turns around and slows down.) By traveling through different dimensions, they could reach other stars in a few days real time, and instantaneously for the crew. (The ship turns back the way it was originally facing and accelerates faster than before, then dissapears in a flash. Scene fades to black.)
(Then suddenly, a flying taxicab flys right past the screen and the views opens up to a sprawling city on a different world with vast farms in the background.) Mankind, as usual, expanded and took advantage of everything they could find.
After many years of exploring, they came upon their worst fear. (Scene changes to show a scoutship hypering into a system. As the camera rotates, following the scoutship, a group of Voinian Warships comes into view. A single Voinian Heavy Fighter is launched from a carrier and approaches the scoutship slowly.) Pilot of the scoutship: <excited tone>Centuari! This is the pilot of Scoutship 3742. I believe we're about to make contact! A small ship, I guess some sort of diplomatic shuttle, is approaching slowly and seem friendly in that aspect..</excited tone> (Scoutship is blown apart instantly by Nuetron Fire and Rockets. Scene changes to a hellish battle between Voinians and Primitive UE ships above a planet also being bombarded by the Voinians.)
All of humanity banded together and formed new technology for a new kind of navy, but the Voinians were just too strong. Then the Voinians threw most of their entire fleet at Earth. (Scene shows Voinian ship after ship hypering into the Sol system.) They underestimated our ingenuity. We won. It was as much of a suprise to us as it was to them. Our lighter ships were able to out-manuever them at every stage. (Shows packs of fighters jumping from behind asteroids and swarming the ships from all directions. UE Destroyers make passes on Voinian ships which can't keep up with them. Several shots of battered and disabled Voinian ships being being blown up.) Over one third of all the Voinian's ships were destroyed. (Scene shows chunks of debri spread out all over the system then fades to black.) (A map, with same or similar systems to the one in EV:O but in 3D, shows systems changing color, namely UE ones explanding.) We pushed back the frontier, but eventually came to a stand still. That's where I came in. Why I was to play such a large role in the history of the Galaxy, I'll never know...
I'll continue it later. What do you think so far?
BTW: I know this isn't actually going to be made, I just find it interesting...

Here's an idea for an EVMP movie:
First design a plugin to give everything the pilot file needs, and then throw it into a story. Then find a way of recording the live-play-action in EVO until the story is completed. Basically, you just sit and watch a movie of someone playing that EV plug from start to finish. Tweak the plug in such a way as to have a major war going on with a lot of cool battle scenes and planet popups describing the action. I think you could make a good 10-20 minute "movie" from start to finish in this way.
