    • Crescent Warfare in 1.0.2

I'm pretty pissed, In 1.0.1, I played on all three sides of the Crescent in different games, and I could conplete all my missions. In 1.0.2, I can't even get past the initial missions. First of all, when I was playing as Igadzra, I saw an Azdara kill three Igadzra Arada's, and an Igazra, then it turned around and killed me. Then I decided that I would play as Adzgari, only to find that the computer was playing perfectly, but not me, and promptly got killed by a Zidara. Usually, I can simply out power a Zidara, but this time I didn't even get past the Fighters. Finally, I decided to play as the Zidara, so at least they would be on my side. The problem is that I always use my phase beam, and then I run out of fuel, and then I get killed. Currently, I have an Arada with

      2 Phase Turrets
      2 Swivel Phase Cannons
      2 Shield Enhancers
      An ECM System
      2 Fuel Tanks
      1 Mass Expansion
Sensor Upgrade, IFF Decoder, Density Scanner
      Dispy Rocket Launcher, and Rockets
If I am playing as Adzgari, I get an Adzgari Upgrade, A shield Generator
If I am Igadzra, I get 2 more Shield Enhancers, and an RCS Upgrade
If I am Zidagar, I get the Zid. ECM, and a Phase Beam, and 2 Fuel Scoops

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? HELP!

    • I'd see the problem being that everyone now goes as fast as you.
And that every enemy ship always decides that YOU are the
      primary target.

Since you can't out-run the little ships, you just need a
HUGE ship that can take them all out alone.
I just finished Zidagra missions with an UE Cruiser.
(and a fleet of captured warships of various strands)

1.02 is a helluva lot harder than 1.0 was.

    • I don't think the Arada is adequite (sp?) for the Strand missions anymore. It just lacks the space to upgrade it enough, or the base statistics to keep it alive long enough.

I did the Azdagari missions in an Arada, and had to reload my pilot file so many times it was embarassing. Then I finally gave up and left the mission string in mid-sequence. I bought a Crescent Warship, spent some time upgrading it, and I did just fine. The CW does ok for the Strand War. I would rather have had a UE Cruiser, but that wasn't an option both financially and in terms of availibility at that point.

You might consider getting a Zidara as Zidagar. I've never bought one myself, but they seem a pretty decent ship... Igazras too (depending on the strand you're playing).

So yeah, get a ship that will work for you. The Arada won't cut it anymore. Sorry.

Zigaras ain't worth a dime in 1.0.2. At least, not in the game I tried them. In front of a bunch of fighters, they get destroyed in less than 2 seconds. You need a ship with some shields and improving space to be able to make the strands strings. It's true the CW is quite good, and you must not take too big a ship, because all the strings have one mission one cannot make with too big a ship.

    • I appreciate the help, and I have decided to complete the UE missions to get the Cruiser. However, I usually use the Lazira, or the Crescent Warship, and I don't have enough money. Sigh... Oh well, its back to being a trader.

As I said, I wouldn't know about the Zigaras, having never actually piloted one myself. And yes, it is true that you shouldn't get a ship that's too big.

Something which bothers me about EVO is that the Azdagari missions are impossible to complete in the Azdagari flagship: the Azdari (sp?). Virtually all of the missions for the Azdagri require multiple tons of cargo space, and their best ship which you can buy only has one ton of cargo space, and not enough mass to put in a cargo bay without seriously jeapordizing the ship. It took me a long time to realize I just had to give up and stop flying one of the little things! Arrgh! 😛 Oh well. 🆒

It depends on how many fighters. On upwards of 10 fighters they have no problem. To many fighters and you can't do anything (like in the attack Pariah mission). They're manueverability makes them good against large ships. You should easily be able to take on a few Azdgari Warships or Igadzras in one.
