    • EVES to EVO Facets

After looking over the new additons to EVO I have decided to abandon EVES (The Massive EV Expansion Set) and start using the graphics and stats to build everything new and better and more organized using the EVO engine...

For those who might remember me I go back to the time Jay Tingley first built the old EV site...

I also hope to start working on each race for EVO facets in groups so that each race can be released one at a time in seperate plug-ins...

      become one...

    • Hey. I couldn't figure out who you were until I checked your email. Welcome back, long time no read! Best of luck to your reconstruction. Heh, this brings back the memory of, a long time ago, I'd made a large plugin (stealing almost all of the graphics) and it was so messy I went and reorganized the WHOLE THING. Lengthy but worth it. Not like the plugin's ever going to be released...

Your separate plugin idea is intriguing but I'm not sure how it'll work if there's ever going to be any interaction between races.

So, as is sometimes said, "Cheers!"
      I like your sig's saying...

      ------------------

    • wow, its mathew daily, kewl. but you should release it in one whole package, so the governments wll be able to all be there... so, keep up the good work man, and have fun like, making that plugin.

    • The idea of the seperate plug-ins is one plug for each races tech, ships, govt data, and graphics...

With the missions and other data in a seperate plug from the rest...

      shadows, and you
      become one...

    • That way I can work to complete each race and translate what I have to EVO...

And then rebuild the universe, based on the EV universe only much bigger...

    • For those of us who have been waiting for the more traditional EVES for years on end now, might you just possibly release what you've got, no matter how buggy or disorganised it is?

-reg, who really doesn't want to have another Vorinth happen right in front of him

    • Actually, I have the Voratee stuff done and was thinking of releasing that for starters and adding an additional plug for all the new interface stuff I've done so far...

When I get the graphics done... for all of it I will try to post the current EV stuff at the site...

But I do want to do the plug for EVO too, especially with all the stuff they've added...

    • I don't really want this to be another Vorinth either...

But it's just gotten kind of huge... and getting even little bits done takes a long time...

And when a bug pops up...

I had a bad one happen that took 3 days for me to squish...

I know what you mean. Having the same sort of problems with New Republic and delta_V.

At least in your case, you are having to straighten out mistakes made by a dozen other people as well as your own 🙂

The idea of releasing ships, etc. for one govt at a time seems a good one, though of course I would prefer to have everything at once. I do hope you will release the EV version of EVES at some point for those of us who still enjoy the original.

Good to see you here again!
