No, I meant .02˘. I've done it on several other posts.

I like the Arada (It's a well-rounded ship, in my opinion), equipped with emalghian cannons, pusuit missiles plus a couple of whatever it came with (I don't really fight much, not when I can avoid it--I'm a trader/explorer type). IMPORTANT!!! Be certain to buy a fuel scoop as soon as you can afford it for your new ship, or you may find yourself stuck in an uninhabited system with no fuel. Also, get an afterburner & IFF decoder.

No, it wasn't me. I think it was our favorite black and white, furry, sometimes stinky Skunko7...

To add on what Jude is saying, another good thing to have a density scanner. This tells you how big the ships are. Also, make sure you have 2 fuel scoops if you can. She is right though these are very important.
Oh yeah, if you want some more info on races, someone has made an interesting site I think called Strand History. He thought it up, but it is still interesting.

I like the IFF Decoder better. It's more important to have color-coded display on your radar, to see who wants to kill you and who doesn't.
Get the anti-missile system thingy (I forget the name) too, and the sensor upgrades. The anti-missile system provides pretty comprehensive protection from guided weapons, which is very useful, and the sensor upgrade is good, cause it cuts down on the fuzz in your display.
All of these are great upgrades because, while sometimes expensive, they take up no tonnage whatsoever, and as such are nice ways to maximise your ship's potential.

Particle Man, Particle Man. Doing the things that a particle can. What's he like? It's not important. Particle Man. Is he a dot, or is he a speck? When he's underwater does he get wet? Or does the water get him instead? Nobody knows. Particle Man.
