I'm outta gas, somewhere in the ji nebula, without a scoop. I can destruct, but then I die. I can't use my escape pod tho. Can I solve my problem (with or without cheats) and keep my pilot?

Looks like you're pretty well screwed. If you know ResEdit, you could make a plug-in that puts a station where ever you are so you can refuel. Either that or get someobody else to do it.

Haven't spent much time in the Ji Nebula. What are the chances of a ship passing by? You could hail them and request assistance. I even got an offer of help from a Voinian supply ship once (back when my pilot was harmless and on clean terms with everyone) but he got shot up before he could help me.
Next time, as soon as you can afford it, buy a fuel scoop!

Sorry Jude, the Ji nebula is empty (until Secession, that is
)Bujju, to get out of this, you're gonna have to cheat, probably using ResEdit. Like the man said, ALWAYS carry a fuel scoop with you. They are one of the few truly essential outfits.
(Another way to recover fuel is as follows: Escorts. They won't sell you fuel like a regular ship will, but you can release them, disable them, and board them for fuel. It ain't nice, but it can come in handy. )

The nebulae is pretty empty, far as I can see (I don't have any plugins loaded), and I'm without escorts (who needs 'em when you're just flying around, right?). I do have 110 SAEs, used to kill some pesky Voinians, and for which I sold my 2 scoops. Oh boy. Well, I guess I'll learn some ResEdit, perhaps. Thanks!

Well i'm asuming you landed on a planet (F-25 maybe?), anways, just remember the name of the system your in and than open your Override data 2 (or is it 1?) and copy the system into a plugin, than simply make a dude apear in that system. if you tell me the name of the system i could easily do it for you and send you the plugin.... of course you COULD just land and take off untill a personality happens to be in the system, hopefully a scout ship or something with lots of fuel that you can somewhat easily capture.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
With EVEdit and the advice of this eminent (sp?) group of Overide masters, I managed to spawn a Miranu freighter in the system of my exile, shanghi its fuel, and navigate out of that damn nebula. Many many thanks for the nearly 20 hours saved by salvaging my pilot from the Void.

Or you could use ACE, it can modify your pilot, it can give you money, change the date or even give you fuel, you can get it at (url="http://"http://www.macupdate.com")www.macupdate.com(/url) or maybe at zdnet or download.com it's a freeware.
