    • Straight Through

The other day I opened the original FW and tried to play it straight through without saves. Trouble came in level four because I was so out of practise that I fell down the bottomless pit.

Has anyone managed to play further than that without saving at all?

How far can anyone get without dying? (even if you do save)

    • I once got up to Unemployed In Greenland, but the axemen at the end killed me. I saved, as well, but didn't die until then. Unfortunately, I started reinstalling Ferazel just before I read this topic, and deleted all my saved game files!

    • Nope. I was never very good at the factory levels anyway.

    • I hardly think it's possible to get much farther than the desert levels / labyrinth without dying. Even attempting to conquer Sol in EV is easier than defeating those infamously hard levels in one swoop, granted the sheer amount of time it would take to get that far.

Here's a simpler question: has anyone defeated the purplish next-to-last level in one swift blow?

I don't think it's possible to get past the floating spiked balls without falling at least once... But that's just me... 🙂

If anyone can beat that level in one swift blow than they must

      A. Spend at least 23 hours and 59 minutes on Ferazel a day
      B. Have 700 Rez Necklaces
      C. Know that only Ben could do that
      D. Know that the level's name is Ends of the Earth 😉

Hmm, that's interesting I've never heard Ben comment on his levels. I wonder if he's ever beaten them himself or if he left that to his beta testers
I wouldn't be surprised, though, if he's beaten it straight through 🙂

    • Not to brag, but....
The furthest I've ever gotten before dying was the first moving Fire Level. (But I've never had the guts not to save before the Manditraki Warrior)
I've pretty much got Parched Earth down.

Ends of the Earth - the springs always get me at least once.

I think the furthest I have ever got in one go is the first ice level. Those ice spikeballs at the beginning of it get me every time.

    • Since I can keep going back to buy health potions, I can make it to labyrinth without dying. I don't know how fair that is since I'm so familiar with the levels after playing many of them through over ten times. The first time I played Ferazel I'm pretty sure I died in the Eastern Reaches for the first time.

But labyrinth? I shudder. No matter how many times through.

Labyrinth is awful. Period. I beat the two fire levels on my second and third tries respectively. But Labyrinth...
