Well, one could argue that it's simply a different style of music. It doesn't mean one is of "lesser quality." It's really a matter of personal taste.

    • True, very true. But given a choice between QuickTime MIDI synthesis and higher level stuff, I think MIDI is left in the dust. MIDI is for quick, minimal size playback of sound, not for one who dares focus on musical detail and articulation. If you've ever tried to duplicate the texture your favourite group gives to its hit title on a MIDI program like (url="http://"http://www.sibelius.com")Sibelius(/url), you will find yourself sorely disappointed. Like it or not, it has no place in gameplay for any decent software company in this era.

    • Since we're already discussing Ben's music... (url="http://"http://www.electricdoormat.com")http://www.electricdoormat.com(/url)

And may I point out that I said he sounded much like "They Might Be Giants" way before this Mark person or whatever his name is did.

Some of my most favorite music of Ben's is on this site.

    • You're not the "mysterious Miss Z" on the website are you Zelda?

Couldn't wait for the 20+ minutes to download a song, (darn dial up ISP).
Maybe have to bite the bullet and get that cable internet connection my daughter's been begging for (I guess it would make a nice Christmas present).

Sorry - got totally off topic.

    • It sounds like Ben got Weird Al to sing for "Apathy Pays" 🙂

    • Very good find, Zelda! I just downloaded everyone of the songs on that electricdoormat.com and have been enjoying listening to them. (MonsterLady- try getting iGetter. I was able to download all the songs in a night despite my 56k.) I am really impressed by Ben's music its really good. I looked at the news and it seems that he updates on a pretty regular basis, meaning we should be due for a new song anytime now. I really like Welcome to the Edge, Unpaid Superhero, Something To Say, Grandpa Jack, Apathy Pays and Rectangle Triangle And The Line. But all the songs are very nice. They have a nice sound, part TMBG, part Weird Al, and occasionally Tom Lehrer. Can't wait for the next song, or an album. Is there anything Ben can't do?

There are CD's...I have three. One that I'm sure you can actually purchase. Let me look for a place you can get it. I had it at one point. I'll try and post it in the next couple of days or so.
