I'm reopening this topic for a split-second, since I just bothered to read this topic today. I have a bit to say.
I bet I was the one who lowered your karma; if not, the other mod has the same idea that I do. To be blunt, demanding a karma hike is absolutely irritating to me, and to a lot of other mods (take a stroll down Just Chat lane and you will understand
). It is a waste of precious modem packets. A few months ago I started cracking down on this. Every time I see a request for a karma hike, regardless of its location, I will drop karma in a terrible act of irony. Irony is always the best teacher, and hopefully this will teach people that karma is for visually segregating the good from the not-so-good, not for bragging rights.Aussie, I'm terribly sorry that I dropped your karma. Still, I hope you understand my point.
