    • Ferazel's Wand Update

      I recently got a new iMac and installed Ferazel's wand off my old computer onto it, but I can't find the zip disk I had that contained the update and I don't feel like re downloading it as i can get it off my old computer. Anyway, I need to know which files the update contained so I can copy them on my iMac via ethernet, so does anyone know?

      Yeah, but the time you had written the message, you would have already had the entire folder copied across 🙂

      Except that for some reason (my theory is differing formats - OS 8.0 to OS 9) transfers that long, although they should be instantaneous, are painfully slow so i'm trying to save time by only copying the ones I need to update Ferazel's Wand to version 1.0.3.

      Oh nevermind. I broke down and wasted a LOT of time copying all the files.

      Um......you weren't using File Sharing, were you? Because if you were, that's your problem. FS is painfully slow on any computer.

      I have a direct connection between my G4 and my brother's 6500, and FS just crawls!

      Here's a tip: download Hotline Server and set it up. Then, log in with whatever computer you want to download to, and voila: speedy network with easy setup 🙂

      That's how I get files from him all the time. Usually about 1.6MB/sec (a lot faster than FS ever was)
