Which door are you talking about? (it's been a while since I've played Fire in the Hole, so I'm not too sure where you are :))

I think he's talking about the gold key that gets you in the door at the beggining. But could you please explain a little further?

Jeff, I think perhaps you're on the wrong level. Isn't fire in the hole where you get the v-blade and so forth? Isn't the key up above the boot powerup?
regulus63, have you broken through to the area below after you found the V-blade spell?

Tell me about it! I think university is doing something to my mind. At first, I thought the level in question was If You Can't Stand the Heat... so I rattled off a list of things to do to get through the last door. Then, after I posted it, I realized that it was Fire in the Hole...so I deleted that and just asked the geneeral question you see in my first post. And now I realize that at the time I was thinking of Out of the Frying Pan.

I was talking about getting the key to the door in the beginning. But I've found my problem. After reading through the posts on this sight it seems that I found another bug in version 1.0.2. The key can be found above the boot power up as was mentioned. But to fix my game I had to upgrade to version 1.0.3 and start a new game. Upgrading alone did not solve my problem. It was a pain to start over but since I had played the game so much most of the early levels seem really easy now and were quickly conquered. So in no time at all I was back to this level again. This weekend I completed the game! It's unbelievable how tough the levels can get. I just started a new game, but this time I'm using FerazEdit to assist me. The mist potion works great. I wonder why it wasn't left in the game. I'm using it to find all the secrets I didn't find the last time through. Thanks for all the replys and good luck to the rest of you who haven't conquered the game yet. You'll need it.
