      Yes...well...as it is often pointed out...quantity doesn't mean a great deal. Most of the topics on the EV boards deteriorate into a stupid pissing contest. Heck, many of them START that way. I'm not really impressed. I happen to love EV and EVO, so I read those boards every so often. There are occasionally intelligent and interesting things posted...but trying to find them through the rest of the garbage that is posted is rather daunting at times.

      Really, you make the EV boards sound truly repulsive; like the armpit of Ambrosia (or Cap'n Hector ;)). It ain't all that bad... just a little off-kilter. Most idiots have been banned now; any others are just around for amusement. Hang around a bit; get to know the community. It's great.

      If you want the old EV community go to the Starlight Hotline server, with the oddest and oldest personalities of EV. There's a link to it here - (url="http://"http://www.oxy-soft.com/nr")New Republic/BubbaFish Software(/url)

      I honestly didn't mean to make it sound that bad. I'm sorry. October is sort of being a stinker and I probably reacted a bit too strongly in response to him. Can I also plead being tired? 🙂

      Banter and Brawl still seems to draw many many flames, and occasionally topics just get silly (hence the enormous length of some of them.)...but the other EV/EVO boards are ok most of the time. In fact, I'm now reading them more than I used to because I have noticed that things are better.

      Bet you didn't know the Typhoon is a missile submarine, or that it is the biggest submarine in the world, or that the Red October in Hunt for Red October was a Typhoon, or that they have a double hull and take at least 2 (Usually 3 or 4) torpedos to sink.

      I said cooler, not more practical/powerful. The Ohio IS more powerful and stealthy (it has never been tracked by a rival government), but it just lacks the style of the Typhoon...
