nothing saves in the game

I just purchased escape velocity nova and have been trying to play the original escape velocity, but nothing saves. I can't save pilots and I can't save key changes or anything in preferences.

Also, how can I get the forklift?

Do you have the pilots folder open when you play the game?

no, I just found out, my computer had it in read only mode

Huh. Well that'd do it too. Just remember that folder thing. Took me hours to figure out on my own.

Unfortunately, that easter egg wasn't carried over to the EVN engine. You can only obtain it (without plug-ins, anyway) in the original EVC.
