Does this web board need to be euthanized?
So I came back from my "other" life after a few years of no posts with a new name and what do I see? I see there hasn't been a post for about a month, the mods and administrators have seemed to stop bothering to move EVO and Nova posts even when people are responding to them, and a clear lack of interest.
It's a shame, but life moves on. I don't know, I still haven't had the heart to throw out my old PowerPC with EVC on it. It's just too damn nostalgic. The sheer beauty of its originality; the sounds, the graphics, the storyline, and all the fun to be had (oh the fun). It's interesting to me that there were semi-recent efforts I can see that people made to keep new topics coming but after the 10 year anniversary, the thing seemed to just die all together (In spite of all you devoted fans over all these years).
I remember about a two-month period over one summer when I wasn't able to go out that I decided to do every single thing I could possibly do before I ran out of new things. This involved things like maxing out my credits, starting both rebel and confed missions at the same time to get access to both special weapons and the confed and rebel cruiser, outfitting my ship to its max with 6 cruiser escorts and having a mix of hawks, lightnings, mantas, and patrol ships up to the maximum amount that could be in play based on the games' limits, dominating every system (by means of legit tactics involving space bombs), then relinquishing certain systems' servitude to develop pillar of society and role model status, etc the list goes on. I played it out until I could consider myself at least as good as anyone else out there. loads of fun..that was years ago.
Now here I am; graduated with my bachelor's degree and soon to be working on my master's, building up a server, taking on a few other business endeavors, and still, here I am, posting on this forum. Maybe I should just let it die and acknowledge this simply as a database of all the great discussions we had about this game. If anyone wants, they should feel free to share their old memories with the game. If not, then I'm glad you were all able to move on easier than myself.
If I don't hear anything from you take care guys and girls!
