which is, of course, why both sides of the storyline involve the rebels attacking Confederation space, and the Confederation defending it.

and why the rebels enjoy spending their spare time destroying helpless civilian luxury liners.

Hey, a freedom fighter's gotta do what a freedom fighter's gotta do. Until the Confederation admits its wrongdoing, ceases hostilities, and provides economic assistance to the worlds it ruined, the war will have to continue.

And just because the Confederation uses its independent contractors for less unsavory tasks, does not mean they don't have a large network of spies and assassins roaming about Rebel space doing exactly the same thing.

    • I think I would rate it this way:

      1. Rebels-Right idea and motivation. 🆒

      2. Confeds-Good government corrupted. :ninja:

      3. Pirates-Fun stuff. But bad.

      4. Aliens-Toss-up. They might have tried to make peace with us, but being a completely different race didn't work out till later.

      5. Independents- Same as Rebels. 🆒

Rebels are very cool, but Feds dominate everyone.

    • Rebels: Corrupt Corporations who don't like Confed regulations, and people who want the Confederation to pay their way through life. Lazy slackers.

Confeds: Good People, with one or two corrupt officials, and they need to keep a better eye on the companies who work for them.

Indies: People who can't decide because of the Rebel lies spread throughout their territory.

      Pirates: Bad

    • It is clear that all of you are pirate haters.

    • Ah, but have we not all had humble beginnings as Pirates??? When I have a good enough ship, I pirate Pirate Argosy's. I love to pirate!

It certainly was a great way to make some cash.

    • That makes us opportunistic bounty hunters who happen to want to make sure the money gets back to the right owner... and get one or two things for its safe return. 😉

    • Might as well just keep the money for yourself. The owner knows it's in good hands. Right??? I mean if some guy fights pirates, that's good enough. (Or since they keep the money for themselves they're just as bad as the pirates?)

    • I spent many, many hours dominating the Star Wars plug-ins, usually playing with a friend. And after I'd captured all of the planets, I learned how to use ResEdit and Mechanisto so I could make a Deathstar. No planet destroying, unfortunately... but freakin' Star Destroyer bays. Oh yeah.

Clavius, the Empire games, and Pale were good, too. And then there was EVGE...
