    • EV Classic Opening Music

      What is it?

Does anyone know if it is an original composition by Ambrosia or is it from something else? I believe the Nova Opening Music is a song called Mars, so I am just wondering if EVC is similar.

    • In the first screen after starting the program, there are several options. New pilot, enter ship, load pilot, set prefs, exit EV, and about EV. if you click 'about EV' you can scroll down through the credits. Under music it says "Killer Tracks & Ambrosia Labs". I assume this means it is original.

    • mars bringer of war is a piece, not a song 🙂 It's part of Gustav Holst's Planets

    • The Planets not Planets, you uncultured swine! 😄

Thanks, I don't exactly have EVC at the moment because I'm running a PC. =\

    • I'm not sure how much Ambrosia had to do with the opening music; Killer Tracks just makes a bunch of music and sound libraries that I would assume people/companies/studios buy off of them.

      They have a website:
      http://www.killertracks.com

    • In that case, it seems likely Ambrosia (or Matt Burch, perhaps) purchased it from Killer Tracks as the intro song. Or maybe one of the employees had it, and Burch decided to use it as the intro because it sounded cool. Perhaps you should ask Matt himself?

    • The song is called "Face of the Enemy." You can find it by searching for 'face' on this site.

    • You know, usually I laugh off posts about the opening music, since no one's ever actually found the song (just heard it on a TV commercial or something like that), but...YOU FOUND IT!

I think we all love you now, J0eiseph.

    • w00t, I just found the EVO song too...that one's called "Larry's Orchestral Adventure."

Man, this makes my day. Twice over.

      awesome 🙂

    • I've always been curious about these songs, it's awesome to know the names of the songs now. The only question is, where can I download them, and what are the names of the EV:N intro song, and the new pilot introduction music from the original EV? I'm certain that the drumroll music from the original EV isn't an in house thing, because I remember hearing it one time while watching a hockey game on TV (When they were going through the starting linups or something). Anybody got any ideas on this stuff?

    • Well, you can stream them from the site J0eiseph mentioned, but seeing as they are commercially produced music tracks (part of the Killer Tracks package), you can't download them unless you buy them. And I don't believe it's quite as simple as iTunes, since this music is more suited for production and stuff, so there's licensing and stuff -- they don't have individual purchasers in mind.

The drumroll theme is likely another track from Killer Tracks, I wouldn't be surprised if you could find it on the same site.

The EVN intro song (or technically "piece") is the "Mars" movement from Gustav Holst's "The Planets." I believe the particular recording used was performed by some professional orchestra in Australia, but since I can't find them credited anywhere, I'm not too sure.

    • Dude!!! These songs are awesome. Nice job guys. Matt Burch, you pick the best intro songs. Not too bad. It sounds pretty cool.

Star Wars was a good epic, but it got boring after a while. The music is still pretty good though. But Lord of the Rings is a better epic. Gotta say that Matt Burch had the best tastes for picking music.
