You must start a new pilot and do it ALL over again.
Enjoy.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by ending a story line. I found many stories lines to follow. Are you asking that if you finish one must you start over or have you finished them all. I ask this as you have registered since Jul 04. It does take time to complete all the storylines and dominate the universe. Whilst on the subject of storylines could somebody fill me in on a question I have. Recently registered myself, I have gone as far as I want to with my second game only Earth & Sirgil Starport to overthrow. This takes time that I don't have at this time. Starting anew I've reached Kestral level quite quickly. It didn't take long for he red circles to appear so I started knocking off planets. The Confeds are interested in me for many op's. but I refuse. The Rebels on the other hand are taking some time to offer me the known assignments. My question is, have I been too quick to overthrow planets that refuse landing, stopping my chance of working for the Rebels

Yes. To get the the first mission, you have to get a Decent Individual rating. So you must improve your rating a LOT, since the least worst rating when demanding tribute is Offender. Often Criminal, and I wouldnt be surprised if you were a Fugitive on Rebel planets now because you have dominated so much. You just cant see see it because the Overlord status replaces your real one.
gtotheeroge: Do you mean a major storyline, Confed or Rebel? In that case, you have to start over. But if you complete a minor storyline, such as Artemis Group, you dont have to start over. You can do two storylines with a little bit of trickery though. Download Double Agent from Add-ons, then you can do both storylines.

My understanding from what you are saying is, it is possible to improve my legal status on many of the planets. Rebel Planets regard me as a "Good Egg" "Decent individual " etc. The Indepenent Planets however regard me me as you suggest, a felon, criminal, offender, etc. That started with the Astex assignment for Dephidia. Now, it is my thinking that a new ID won't work, should I perhaps release the overthrown planets from servitude, does that help? Or perhaps I should do more cargo, rush deliveries for the remaining planets which perhaps would help my standing in the Universe.

Make a copy of your pilot file before you try releasing the planets, incase that doesn't work. The Fake ID only works on Confed Planets.

I just checked the EV Bible. Dominating planets seems to mess up your your legal status.
AvailRecord What your legal record in this system must be for this mission to become available
-32000 when the player has dominated the stellar in question
-32001 when the player has dominated at least one stellar
So, it seems you have gotten legal record -32000 by dominating. And the first Rebel mission (Transport Rebel Parcels) reguires a record of 1 (Decent Individual). So yeah, release the planets and make the Rebels happy.

Did you get a Rebel mission? Oh, and for EVO, there is a plug called Stupid Hunters which means all Bounty Hunters are just derelicts. Perhaps it works for EV too..

I'm concerned!..No Rebel missions have been forthcoming. Fetch equipment for TurinV, deliver weapons for Clotha Prime, that sort of thing. Nothing in the real mission department. There was one mission that I did for the Confeds, that was to deliver toxic waste to a planet for recycling, then I delivered the refined toxics to another planet. Do you think this would be regarded as completing a mission for the Confeds, cutting me out of the the Rebel strings?

No. The deliver toxins (or whatever it is called is just a repeating mission, like Ferry Passengers to <planet>. The first Confed mission is Ferry Important Documents. Did you get a mission where a Confed operative approaches and asks you to ferry important documents to a distant planet, I think Hera in Olympys system? This is real weird. You should have gotten the first Rebel mission (Transport Rebel Parcels) as soon as you have killed 1 crew (Mostly Harmless), and gotten a rating of Decent Individual. It has a very low chance of appearing though... only 25%. Have you checked the bars several Rebel bars, not just one? The place where you get the first mission seems to be random.

Very True. I've completed both storylines, and for fun did them again with the doubleagent plugin. It's very weird that you haven't gotten the Rebel string yet, so I would suggest that you follow General Cade Smart's Advice, just cuz he got caught up in Nova doesn't mean he's a bad fella.
