how do i increase memory allocation

You must be pretty bad off if you don't even know how to increase a program's memory allotment!!!!!!!!! :Dlol.
Quit the program if it's open, click on the icon and hit Command i. Ten select memory and type in your preffered number.

Easy way - highlight app by clicking on it once. Then go to the file menu and select 'get info', and then select 'memory' in the sub-menu (OS9 only). Then change the memory settings to the desired level (just make sure you have enough free RAM by going to the apple menu and selecting 'about this computer'.
