Ok, I've searched through a whole lot of topics but I can't find one that quite fits the bill (this might be cause its really hard to define the right criteria without getting a whole load of "I CANT BETE THE ALEIN CRUSER HELP MEEE!" topics)...

Basically, I've done the alien missions for the rebels, and I'm looking to do some more missions. Only, from what I can gather, these are the Astrodyne Outpost missions. Which, from looking at a post which I found from a while ago, (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/000453.html")here(/url), seem to be done totally after the alien missions.
However, I distinctly remember doing some of these missions before the alien missions. And, from reading around, it seems this has occurred before, as a lot of people seem to claim that they beat that alien shebang with the tractor beam. Which you get from the Astrodyne outpost missions.
Anyway, the problem is that I've now down all of the alien string, and half of the beam string, yet I can't get any more missions. I've flown around for about 2 years of game time, looking for it, and I can't find it. I've never aborted a mission, although I keep turning down those damn Starbound missions, and I can't find anything anywhere.
Oh yeah, I did the Artemis missions, too...

There's not a whole hell of a lot else to do once you beat the aliens. Start a new pilot, or play with a plug (I recommend EVGE or Pale).

Well, it depends on which part you left off. Maybe you need to go to Palshife or somewhere north of Ruby, as that is the area you get the tractor beam.
