How do I get to use the hyper gates (mission string?) or is their a mod I can get that lets me use them?

Second, this is not the board for Escape Velocity: Nova , this is the board for Escape Velocity , the original game in the series. The Nova board is about four boards below this one in the main listing.
Third, to answer your question, you can only recieve use of the hypergates if you do a small, but slightly challenging string of missions. If you have some combat rating and are well liked in Fed space, keep dropping by the Earth shipyard.
