Popping Kestrels and Corvettes will make you a rich man very quickly.

      5 minutes to get in a light freighter, and 115 minutes of -trade route- work, if I want money. Last time, I got into the light freighter, did 50 minutes of the trade route, got into a Lightning, got into three very long battles with Kestrels which ruined it, went and bought a Corvette, did a load of Rebel missions and then finished up in Darven working on my combat rating blowing up just about anything , regardless of allegiance.

      Whose ship?

    • Methinks firestorm may have "set the bar" so high, many contestants are "chicken" about posting their results. (I know you have turned me into one heck of a risk-taker to try for "firestorm like" numbers....)

      So, there I was in my souped-up Scout (One Mass Expansion, Durasteel, 2 Lasers, 2 Protons, Javelin launcher and "gobs" of Javelines, etc. -- a 350,000+ Credit ship -- pirating the pirates. My plan was to make it to a 'Vette so I could rack up some BIG scores in the last fifteen minutes of my two hours.

      I jumped into Curzon and a lone 'Vette pirate started doggin' me. "Ah-ha!" I cried. Looking at the clock, I had ten minutes left. Instead of running and taking on more Clipper pirates ... I thought, "If I could capture this guy, I'd certainly have time to get some good loot." (Everbody knows a 'Vette will take down a pirate Kestrel....) I decided to go for it....

      "...Long story short" we BOTH ran our sheilding to zero at the same micro-second. Instead of numbers respectable for firestorm ... my final stats were:

      Pirate "Wanna-be"
      Shuttle(!)
      Rebel, Confed, Starbound "packet missions" done
      Turin teraforming - 2 missions done
      Diphidia Astex missions - 3 stages completed
      Medical Emergency - 4 or 5 (I got a lot of those.)
      "Red" status in Capella, Rigel, Centauri and Barnard (I'd looted several Luxury Liners.)
      Escape Pods used - 2
      Credits - 295,000

      firestorm, you're really beginning to BUG me...!

    • well i think its all the time I have nowadays. School got out 4 days ago and I dont have anything to do, but play Esape Velocity. I haven't had any luck with rebels or confederates though.

      ------------------

    • Pirate:
      Bob Bando in his Scoutship, Bandit II

      Scoutship = approx 501,000 credits (Mass Expanded & very upgraded)
      Combat Rating = Noteworthy
      Escape Pods = 2
      Missions =
      ... StarBound & Rebel "Packets" -- (third stage of SB...)
      ... Turin Terraforming -- two stages
      ... Medical Emergencies -- five(?)
      ... Fugitive to Pirates Haven
      Credits = 615,884
      Status = Red in most Confed. (I Love those Luxury Liners .. & the Fugitive mission.)

      Noteable event(s): Lucky timing. I got two (2) Kestrels' loot. One was disabled by a Confed Frigate just as I jumped into the system ... then the Frigate took off after the Pirate Lightning. The other chased a Confed Frigate out of Farazon ... seeing the Kestrel's shields down to 4%, I took a chance and "barely" disabled it in time. The second one got me 247,000 Credits. Nice!

    • Just before the contest ended, I finally struck the right balance of patience / aggressiveness and got my Pirate pilot into a 'Vette. I headed for Darven to go Kestrel hunting ... and all I saw was Clippers!!!! (Where'd all those Kestrels go who were chasing me to death in my Scout?) Yeah. I got lazy taking down Clippers and Argosies and within five minutes of the end of my two hours I tried to blast a Corvette ... with my Decoy Flares(!). He wasted me cuz I had the wrong Secondary selected. Suddenly I had no stats worth posting....

      So, what happened to all the rest of you Velociteers? ZERO Confed entries? I win with pretty "average" Pirate scores? (You realize of course ANY Fed entry would have been "the winner." ... Huh???

      +++++++++++++++++

      And the winners, by category are...

      Rebellion - SilverDragon
      Confederation - (no entries)
      Trader - firestorm
      Pirate - Kaptain Karl
      Independent - firestorm

      +++++++++++++++++

      Thank you -- to the three who played. (Next time it'll be a three hour contest, FYI.)
