Already asked this under 'what am I missing' here but the hints I got there dont work.

I understand I need to get the old elf in the cave on the plains of endless winds to give me a quest.
But the fellow wont talk to me...

I have the following quests:

Symbol of Garendall
In the past of thievery - I already have awareness and pathfinding, should I still go to Perugo forest?
Learning tree search

I have been all over the map but cant really find anything usefull left to do.
I got a big blue mushroom, 2 dragons teeth, heaps of shells (are they needed somewhere?)

Been to the learning tree and asked about elfs and the order of the crystal.

Blacksmiths only want to sell me stuff, not answer questions about shields and sacrifices.

What am I missing here?

Now that did the trick! Thanks!

In the meantime have been traveling up and down between the old witch shop and the cyclops coast raiding them and selling the stuff they drop (between 4000 and 5000 gold a trip!)
