Recently, I've been using the names Nexium , Atramentous (used for ships that are black/blackish in color), and Adamantium. Can anyone come up with unique names like these or others?

I'm not nearly as creative as you with making up semi-pronounceable combinations of letters...I stick with cities, or words like Avenger or Icestorm, occasionally adjectives (which are probably the parts of speech of those things you made up if they actually existed), like Incontrovertible, Invincible, Intrepid, Indestructible, etc. Animals are nice too. Preferably ferocious ones, though it'd be amusing to see the U.S.S. Giraffe as this warship armed to the teeth.

I have recently used the names "Hammer of Justice" and "Forgotten Summer." It depends on the storyline. The first is clearly vengeance oriented, and the second lends itself well to the Polaris storyline (Nova, I know, but it's what I have been playing lately) where you are left with only the memory of better times.

Actually, Atramentous actually means black; Nexium is the Purple pill (I used it in EVO when I owned a Zidara); Adamantium is a word for an alloy of various imaginary metals that was used to create Captain America's invincible shield. I always name my Shuttle as one of the standard names, Starseeker.
It just fits the shuttle well...
Then, I go what ever I feel, my Freighter in EVO was "t3h l33+ h4x0r mule", I've had S.S. Icecream, and stuff...
But I always name 'em like this: civvie ships are S.S. or just plain nothing, confed U.S.S. and rebel R.S.S...
In EVO it's USS, VSS, ISS, ZSS, ASS (kekeke)or whatever government I am serving.

I like naming ships after people or places...
Aleksei Leonov was the first man to do a spacewalk - a Russian Cosmonaut. I've never actually used the name - but it's nice.
The Light Fantastic was a Light Freighter that died in Yemuro, one cold and starry night in space...
Some times I use variations on the same name - I've flown the Starseeker, the Star Cruiser, the Star Flyer, the Star Dancer, the Star Ruler.
I had a Corvette I called the Orion Marauder once.
Dragon One was a Dragon.
One of my favorites was a Rebel Cruiser I had...I called it the Rebel Lion. (Hint: put the two words together...)

Giraffes can kill large animals (lions, humans...) with a single kick. You don't mess with that.
