    • The longest i ever played was about 33 hours. it was school holidays and I got up at 6pm and started playing. At 3am my mum stormed in and screamed at me for a bit the npulled the plug out of the wall and killed the computer. I had played with one character for nearly 9 hours until she broke it.
Overide for about 9 hours and Nova for a pitiful 4 hours.

Yes, Earth is too tough. 😉 Even with the Cruisers Heavy Fusion Beam, 4 Seeker Drone Launchers+ 80 Seeker Drones and 3 Alien Fighters it takes so long. No wonder, then- it has 3172 ships. The moral of the lesson: dont Demand Tribute from Earth! 😛

    • About 20 hours, give or take. Just playing, trading, not much fighting. Well, some.

      Cheers,

    • Hmmm... about 48 hours, possibly a few more than that. My older brother and I got our hands on it back in 1996 as soon as the game came out (I go back as far as Maelstrom ;)) and started playing it on a week we didn't have school. We played it consistently from a Thursday night to Saturday night...

      Sad. 😛

Ahh to be young and invincible again. If I tried to do that now, my heart would probably explode violently. Back in August '96 however, after I cracked open that first Mac Addict disk, I remember playing on my friends Performa 600 series in his solarium (I was only blessed with a Mac SE) for about 36 hours. Noon on a Thursday to a bit after 11 on Friday. Like you Kyle, I was trading off with somebody but he sucked =P. At about 8 in the morning on friday, we discovered the bulk-freighter + Mass Expansion bug. That changed everything. Now I just wish I had figured out the command+option bulk-buying option. That would've saved us a lot of clicking while we were buying torpedos...

    • I've never played for longer than five hours myself, but that's just because I like to breaks to watch TV or read something. Christmas break I broke out all 3 games and played them combined for about 60 hours in three days, which is not that bad, really. I started on a Monday, 10 am, played on and off till Wednesday morning 5 am, gave up, fell asleep for two hours (I have no idea why I didn't just stay asleep), played off and on until Thursday 11 am, had lunch, went to bed right afterwards and didn't wake up until Friday 10:30 am. Of course I don't quite remember exactly, so all times are estimates, but still, that much EV cannot be good for you, no matter how good the games are.

    • Crap. I thought I was crazy. 60 hours is going to be the most, unless somebody already started trying to get 61. 😉
