Setting a ship's shields and armor to -1 has the same effect as setting them to 0. You're left with a ship that a single laser shot can destroy.

Yeah, but it'd be easier to just give Hector a Rapier with no weapons. If you do want to go through the trouble you simply have to: make the shield capacitor raise shields by 1000, and make the shield booster recharge -200. (I'm pretty sure it needs to be in the negs, and the numbers don't have to be exact. You can use any amount you choose to, and I don't advise this kind of cheating/hacking/whatever the hell you want to call it)

Well in the very early version of ev, (I used to have it) Cap'n Hector could be destroyed and went down quite easily with a combination of 2 lazer turrets, 2 proton turrets, and 4 neutron blasters. And I've had ev unregistered for a couple of our years, (not ev years) and almost never get attacked. For nova that's a different story though.

Herm - I was just wondering if you could give mroe detail on what Hector does.
My friend said in EV she pirated him (He said it happened only sometimes when he landed), in EVO she just killed him. (Once again, the plot thickens.)

Your friend is mistaken, as Hector doesn't actually pirate from you when you take off from a planet in EV, she only does that in EVO.

Ambrosia used to have a policy against crippling their games. Newer games like EV Nova have much stronger restrictions on unregistered versions.
