    • EV Music?

Does anyone knw who produced the original song used in the opening of EV? I just heard it on a ad on the Discovery Channel for a program called "War Ships" or something to the effect.

      ------------------
      The NSA is watching...
      de mortuis nil nisi bonum
jhtrih is known only as jhtrih...

    • Yeah, I heard it on the Channel 7 Local News Weather Watch™ or something. I got kinda unnerved. "Whoa."

      ------------------
"So this is it. We're going to die."
      "Would you stop saying that?!"

"Hello, something seems to be happening."

    • I know the song was found at killertracks.com (according to the EV credits). I also heard the same music on the Discovery Channel recently, as well as the brief intro music you hear when you first start a brand new pilot (the Levo port scene).

Only in about 10% of movie advertisements are the actual scores from that movie used. Most composers don't finish the compositions until weeks before the movie is released (especially folks like John Williams, James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith etc.), and thus don't have the time to arrange a special trailor theme for advertisements. The only movie advertisement I remember having the actual music for the movie in it was "Hook." Guess you'll have to get used to that. 😉

    • Still, some movie scores should be left to the movie they were meant for. Like I would have to vote the score for Gladiator as being on of the best movie soundtracks made. That composer was a genious. In some years from now gladiator might be a "classic", ya never know. So I'd like to think of gladiator when I hear that music, not a submarine movie that I have no interest in...lol. 🙂

Gladiator was certainly one of Hans Zimmer's weaker scores, in my opinion. I've been collecting soundtracks for about eight years now (I have well over 100 now), and if you want to hear his best score, go listen to "Crimson Tide."

The music for the K-19 advertisement fit it rather nicely. Tense, bombastic, action-packed.

Perhaps this is going to be headed for the B&B; / Just Chat soon...
