How do you capture a fed cruiser? I have a reb cruiser and 6 reb cruiser escorts and i still can't capture it. why?

I would suggest that you keep trying, as you are bound to get lucky at least once with those (url="http://"http://www.evula.com/survival_guide/ev-ships/rebel.html#cruiser")Rebel Cruisers(/url). However, unless you get rid of one of your escorts (leaving you with five), you will be unable to capture anything.

Since you're in a Rebel cruiser with 6 escorts, I'll presume you're a Rebel, in that case, capturing a Confed cruiser is extremely unwise. Rebels will shoot at you because your in an enemy ship. Confeds will shoot at you because they hate you. Independant worlds will shoot at you because you've probably busted up loads of Confeds in their systems. Pirates will shoot at you becuase they're pirates. All in all, everybody will try to take a peice out of you. They're also slow and you won't be able to replenish its patrol ships.

But a corvettes crew would be much larger than the shuttles and much smaller than the cruisers regardless of the crew of your escorts. Right?

It's only your crew that counts when trying to capture a disabled ship. With that said, just make a plug that increases the complement on the rebel cruiser if you really want to capture that ship.

This sounds stupid, but I remember reading somewhere that the state of your shields also affects the capture probability. But you don't want a fed cruiser anyway. No matter what anyone says, owning one is just awful.
Stay away. Stay away, stick with the rebel cruiser. Great ship.

You are correct. It also seems (from observational evidence) that the longer a ship stays disabled, the lesser the player's chances of capturing it.

The Confederate Cruiser is the best ship in EV. Not the best to pilot, though.

The only reasons one would have to capture a Confed Cruiser/Frigate...would be if it had some new type of weapon/components on it or if it was carrying a someone special (either high-up officials, techies, or Rebel captives). Only try to capture one on direct orders from your superiors. Otherwise, leave it to the spies and commando teams to get what need to be got.

I never liked Confed Cruisers as escorts, they're far too slow and usually can't catch up with the opposing ship. Six rebel Destroyers, Cruisers, Corvettes or Kestrels would probably your best escorts.
