    • Basilisk 2 Question:

I cannot seem to get my "my computer" files when I'm running the emulator. I have enabled the external file system and checked all the drives, they appear in the my computer menu as folders, but there's nothing in them! I'm windowsXP, help please!

      Possible solutions:

      • Buy a Macintosh

      • Reinstall Basilisk

      • Try again

I encountered the same problem, and I fixed it, but I cannot recall how. Just try, try, try! 🙂

I can post this here if I want, there are lots of people here that use B2. Besides, who gave you the right to say what's an acceptable post or not?

      Well, it isn't really EV-related...

Actually, the whole point of me even running B2 is so I can play EV, making it EV-related 😛

Please try to remember how you did that, thanks 🙂

Can you try to be more specific with what your problem is? That might clear my mind a little. 🙂
Have you booted Basilisk correctly? Does the "My Computer"-icon not appear?

    • The My computer icon appears, and I can see the little "C" folder in it. But, when I open it the folder is completely empty.

Yeah, I had the same thing. Doublecheck the preferences. Compare those you have, to WarBeast's preferences. Do not change anything. He is the almighty one in this case. I think I fixed it with this.
Have you tried to see if you can show files from your CD-drive(s) and or floppy-drive(s)?

I have installed Basilisk on both WinME and Win98, so I guess it could in theory work on WinXP too...

    • Yeah, The CD and Flopy Drive work perfectly, it's only the C drive that's giving me trouble :frown:

Well, if you really want a file(s) from your C-drive to your emulated Macintosh, do this; put the file(s) you want on a CD (if you have a CD-burner) or put the file on a floppy. Then you can access the files from there. 🙂

Otherwise, untick all the drives you do not use. Ehm... What I mean is; in Basilisk, disable all drives that you do not have. Those might confuzzle things.

    • Yeah, that's how I have been doing things for a while, but I can't keep wasting CDs all the time :frown: . Oh well, I posted this in the official B2 forum now so hopefully they can help me

      Ever heard about CD-RW?

Yeah, I suppose that you can get better help there. 🙂

    • I've used basilik before and i know what u need to do. Mac files have a different format than windows files so you have to use a special program to use basilisk. Go and search for HFV explorer. Once you've downloaded it, create a new hard disk that has about 300mb. You then look in the windows part of the explorer to find the ev installer and transfer it to the disk you just created. Go into basilisk GUI and make sure this disk is selected. Run basilisk and then the ev installer. Hope this helps.

...That wasn't really my question, but oh well, at least you're trying to be helpful 🙂 . Actually I'm talking about accessing the my computer portion of B2 that's supposed to let you transfer files from the C drive to your mac drives.
