If you have a retainer, don't eat spagethi (sp). If you have spacers, well, that sucks, I feel sorry for you. Those hurt like a hungry mofo. Other than that, it isn't bad, just don't bump your mouth or it'll bleed all over. Also, get the little bristle thingys to get between the braces when brushing. They help a ton.

Luke, I know how it feels, I just got braces a month ago. My advice is, when you first get them, it hurts like hell, but it feels natural in 2 days. During those first 2 days, don't try to eat anything harder than bread. Ice cream and popsicles are good, and so is ice water. Just take it easy and try not to think about it.

I typed a very long, detailed message about braces, luke. Seconds before I was going to post it, I hit the "clear" button on my way-too-small keyboard. I will just try to sum up what I said before...

1. Eat whatever you want (gum, nuts, chips, etc) as long as it does not hurt you. It will not mess up your braces, as they claim.
2. It only hurts the first few days, and after you get your rubber bands changed
3. Power Chains (pain chains as the orthodontist's assitant calls them) really, really suck
4. Spacers are bad, bad, bad.
5. Your moving teeth can expose nerves. This will make you very, very sensitive to hot and cold food or drink. You will find this out the hard way.
6. Like someone said, don't miss an opportunity to slap around the orthodontist's kid a little

1. How is cheating handled on battle.net? I know for a fact some people in a game I was playing were cheating. They even admitted to it. Don't all players have to agree, or is it the hosts decission, or can anyone cheat, or what?
2. Can you put up some more replays?

Fighting as a terran in multiplayer in broodwar, are there any differences to original starcraft other than medics and those new frigate-things? I mean, does it change anything for the terrans but those 2 new units? Are there any new tricks or anything?

1. Regular cheat codes are disabled. Some PC-using ######s will use "hacks," special programs of some sort which will give them effects similar to certain cheats. There is, unfortunately, very little that can be done about it, as far as I know. I've heard that there may be some "anti-hack" and hack detection programs out there, but those are also PC only, to my knowledge.
2. Probably soon. That one is the best, though. What I will try to do soon for sure is put up some game notes relevant to that one, which would serve as good learning tools.
3. Not significantly. There have been several minor statistical balance tweaks with each patch, but I doubt you will notice those much. Keeping track of all the stats and such pretty much requires a photographic memory. There are of course some interesting alternate strategies that become effective when playing humans, and some that work on computers that don't work on people, because they are too smart.

Thanks for the help, everyone. Even though it doesn't happen too much at my school, I've vowed that if anyone calls me metalmouth, I will refuse to take that kind of crap. First, they get a warning, then, I give them the need to get their own braces. So far, everyone's been very supportive bout it. I've already dealt with spacers, I shouldn't needmore of them. AdvilŽ is saving my life, I'm sure. Plus, I have this thing the Dr. just calls "The Appliance." It's much worse than the braces, and gives me something of a lisp. Evrything I eat gets stuck in the damn thing. :frown:

Oh, luke, you poor sonofabitch. That is a Rapid Pallettal(sp) Expander. I had one of those. The cranking sucks. Don't worry about the lisp; that will be extremely humiliating for about 2-3 days, and then you will learn to talk around it. I had to give a speech the day after I got mine.

Yes, food gets cought it that a lot. That can be a real pain in the ass when eating chicken and other tougher meat...

What really, really sucks is when they take it off. Do you remember right after you would lose a tooth, and under the tooth it was all soft and gummy for a while? The whole roof of your mouth is like that for about a day. During that time, I suggest you refrain from: Talking, eating, drinking, swallowing, or anything else that will cause your tongue to touch the roof of your mouth.
